Have they determined what caused this? My family lives right over in that subdivision and heard it was caused by kids playing with fireworks? Just wondering if there was any truth to that... We were coming home from downtown (Sac) on Sat and could see the plume of smoke in Rancho Cordova....had no idea it was coming from right in our own neighborhood!!!

Last I read it was caused by a single point of fire such as a cigerette butt or match or firework.

speaking of wildlife, if you live around that neighborhood of the fire, be a little more alert to snakes in your area. They also get displaced after a fire and move in a hurry someplace they wouldn't usually go. Just keep an eye out.
