Thanks! I think you'll like the float I'm working on for this year's Warren G Day Parade. I just need about 4,000 more popsicle sticks to complete the scale model of your childhood home for the top part by where the mariachi band goes. I'm excited, though I'm also a little queesy from all the popsicles I'm having to eat.

Happy B-Day to y'all.

(My birthday is a national holiday in Portugal and I spent my 29th b-day in Lisbon because of this fact. What sounded like a great idea when planning that stop of the trip turned out to be less than exciting; everything was closed.)

Thanks for your understanding and I hope your tummy feels better soon. The Mariachi band is a nice touch that reminds me of my birthplace in San Diego, where the illegal aliens tended the vegetable fields near my house.

I agree that the day has gotten far too commercial. I think it all started when that Republican Pete Wilson signed the bill that designated April 6 as California Poppy Day.

Add to that the festival atmosphere that surrounds the annual hoopla and parades to celebrate our formal entry into World War 1
and it's easy to see that the true importance of my birthday has been lost among the bouquets, Hallmark cards, and irrelevant parades. It almost seems as if people care more about some little flowers and reminiscing about some old fracas in Europe than they care about me.

I'm sure everyone will understand that I'm requesting that in lieu of sending flowers and cards that everyone just send a modest gift to my Paypal account.

Thanks, Hope! It's been fab so far - I have some gorgeous flowers in my cubicle. A pink azaelia and a vase of pink and white tulips (thanks, FolsomBarb!).
My boss in Kansas City even 'sang' to me.
Can't wait to see those pics!
