I was in Sees yesterday and the woman said they're closing next week, and will re-open in August.

For any of you who bank with B of A it looks like they are asking for permission to establish domestic branches at 200 Palladio Parkway, Suite 2201.

I think that See's is closing to they can open a full store. They will be having bulk
candy and not just the normal boxes. That will be a lot better because you can
get a box filled with the candy you want and not just their assorted candies.

This is a dangerous development!
Seriously though, this is awesome. The only ones who will be disappointed by this news will be the Kiwanis who have been so great about selling boxed Sees candy at Christmas to benefit our military.
Glad we are FINALLY getting a full See's store in Folsom. We always get hand-packed boxes, each one individually chose, for our family members. Everyone's got their favorite candies!! Mine, you ask, are the dark chocolate covered almonds.

So when are some "real" stores coming in? A bunch of underwhelming lower end chain stores in a concrete jungle. Seriously? I hear Party City is in negotiations. I also heard last year that they were very close to announcing Yard House, but now it's been a year and no signs and it's no longer on the plans. The Galleria is bringing in big stores like Build-a-Bear, Lululemon, Beard Papa, Sammy Hagar's, Lovesac, Microsoft, and rumors of next year being "the year of the luxury stores" and even preliminary expansion plans are already being worked on for the next expansion. So much for this being our solution to not having to drive to Roseville to do shopping. They have a long way to go before they get to that point.

I think the palladio has nice stores in it. The only thing I wish they really had is a book store. I really miss having a book store in Folsom

There is a thing called the internet that kinda killed those retailers.

yes, thanks for the sarcastic response. The same could be said for any other type of commodity. perhaps that is where we are headed. A nation of warehouses and delivery trucks.
Nonetheless, I loved the book store not just for buying books. I loved the atmosphere and the social aspect. Not something that can be duplicated via shopping on the internet.

Many people (including me) loved the atmosphere and the social aspect. Alas, not enough of them (us) actually bought books in the stores, as opposed to from amazon (physical or digital).

I buy lots of books for my Kindle, but do miss bookstores. Strolled by a lovely one today in Petaluma that sold both new and used where I picked up two books for my kids. I do wish I had the option to do this here.

I agree that the Palladio is a disappointment. I much prefer the shopping selection and atmosphere in Roseville. It doesn't help that I have received very poor customer service at one of the shops that transferred from another location. It carries a brand that I love, but in the future, I will bypass the local option and go straight to the brand store..in Roseville.
I agree that it would be nice to have a bookstore/coffee shop in Folsom, even though I prefer to buy most books on kindle also. It's fun and relaxing to hang out at bookstores, and I always buy a few books in the process (whether I really need them or not)!

Roseville sucks! I wouldn't go to Galleria if you paid me.

Ditto! It surprised me to see several posts fawning over Roseville shopping and even one saying they'll bypass local options and head straight to Roseville. Makes ya wonder why anyone would want to live in a smaller town only to travel to the bigger town all the time to shop.
I can't stand going to Roseville, it's too damn crowded. Last time I went to Galleria I couldn't even find a @^$!#% parking space - that's how freaking crowded it was there, and that was at midday on a Thursday. Screw that, I'd rather have limited choices in local shopping then deal with insanity shopping with large crowds.

I hate driving to Roseville or Citrus Heights or downtown Sacramento to shop, but for a woman that knows she's too old to dress like a teen and doesn't care for Marshall's or Ross, I find myself having to go out of town to find a dress for a special occasion or clothes to wear to work. The outlets aren't all that great of a deal even if you can find something. I can get a better deal at a Macy's sale.
I heard Coldwater Creek was going in at Palladio. Has that happened yet?

While the Galleria may "suck" as you say, that is not Palladio's competition-The Fountains is.
Have either of you been to the Fountains?
It was what we were told Palladio was going to be.
It's not.
Not even close.
