I agree that it does seem silly that there are 3 Starbucks within a 2 block radius, but apparently there are enough customers for all! And yes, the inside does look pretty fancy.

Also, the See's opened today... which is good, because the Franco's 5 and 10 store has terrible choices and is crazy expensive. I was thinking that a 5 and 10 candy store would have lots of bins of fun/ nostalgic candy to choose from, but they seem to be focusing on imports... the girl at the counter was very excited that they carried Mars bars from Europe. (I'm not excited to pay 3 dollars for a Milky Way from Europe).

my English neighbors will be thrilled if they have British Cadbury Dots.

Amazing coffee at Whole Foods, and Win Co (near front door, self serve, $1 ).

I've never found $1 coffee to be awesome, so I'm curious....Which WF coffee is awesome? I hope you are talking dark roast....

On the coffee though, try their blond blend if you go there again, it's got a mellower less bitter taste. (Personally I almost always get their green tea)

I like dark roast, even expresso. the blonde is too bland for me. I agree, some of their green teas are good. But for those prices, I want rocket fuel coffee. :)

What? People actually drink the straight coffee? That's crazy talk.  #SoyMochaFrappaccinoPeppermintMachiattoChaiPumpkinSpiceLatteCappuccinoNoWhip

My drink is an americano - expresso & water. And if I want a little more, then it's a nonfat cappuccino.

Also, the See's opened today... which is good.

Ugg, more temptation! I guess this will be a good test to see how badly I want to remain on course with my heathy behavior journey. You all enjoy!!

To fit the food scene in Folsom the Palladio needs another burger joint.  I kid..I kid.

Based on the caliber of retail and restaurants, if the intent of the Palladio is to be something similar to the fountains they are failing miserably. I guess Folsom and Rancho Cordova do have some things in common.

I love a big cup of good old Navy coffee.  Hot and black. No cream and no sugar. I have been drinking it that way

since Navy Boot Camp back in 1961.   grrrrr.   In fact I am up early so I guess I will have a nice hot cup now....

I drink about 5-10 cups a day.

Really? Roseville is so much more Rancho than Folsom. If you like Roseville (and endless homes and strip malls), you can have it.

I really hate the mallification of America, with the same old chains at each.

Although Pinkberry, Johnny Rockets, Red Robin, Panera Bread and San Francisco Sourdough are everwhere, at least we have Blunami, Chops, Chicago Fire and Toby Keith's for something different.

Palladio already has Claire's and H&M. I wonder if we'll soon see Sunglass Hut, Spencer's, Hot Topic, Forever 21 and Orange Julius.

Fully agree, there's zero in Roseville that would compel me to make the 25 mile round trip drive to hassle with the crowds and parking there.

25 miles that take an hour to drive due to the 12-way intersections every quarter mile.

I had a German friend visiting and took him to see a movie followed by the bier garten at Whole Foods.  He is an adventure guide with a circuit of Moab, Rubicon Trail and then back home to his house in La Paz.  He was overwhelmed by the size, the perfection and faux-feeling of the mall.  He actually found it a little disorienting.  Next time I'll take him to old town.

I would like something along the lines of a Parker's Hot Dogs, though! I wish Urban Dog moved here instead of closing.

It doesn't take me an hour to get to Roseville. What route are you taking?

I noticed See's was open on Friday night. I saw 4 salespeople and no customers. I also saw the Starbucks. I wonder if there will be dedicated parking spots for Starbucks, as I can't imagine many people would be willing to walk from the parking garage or the lot behind SA/TK for a coffee. There are too many other easy access coffee shops nearby.

I don't buy chocolate often, but when I do I got to Snooks, which is at least as good if not better than See's. I hope there is room in the community for both stores, because I'd hate to see the small family business at Snooks suffer due to a local See's store.

SacBee is reporting that William Glen will be opening in the Palladio in mid-September adjacent to Grebitus.
