Bitter, bitter, bitter! TM, why do they all hate you so much, or at least hate the persona you are portraying on here?

Maybe you should run for mayor, you seem to be a very powerful person. I mean if parents are making decisions about where to send their children to school, based on your posts, wow, think what you could do at City Council meetings!!!!!!!!!

I understand last night's meeting was interesting to say the least. I did not attend. Anyone know WHO called the police/fire depts last night??? By chance was it someone that wanted the meeting to come to an abrupt end? Wouldn't it be safe to say that when the next meeting is in Rancho, a majority of the Folsom parents won't attend? How convenient!

No, no, not me...but, thank you. I'm not really that polarizing in real life. Yes, the next meeting will be in Rancho, but they did the same thing 8 years ago. It's in the book...I'm telling you, this is going to come down to the wire. The district hopes that it will go right until the end of school, so the teachers can't strike(again, I don't want to strike, believe me or not, don't care...). They really aren't too bright. I heard MANY teachers ready to throw in the towel two weeks ago. That is all gone now. People are charged up and ready to go. If you hate unions(I'm no lover of them, but I'm in one with my colleagues so I'm sticking with it) and you REALLY hate teachers then you are really going to hate the next two months. We're all going in the mud. Care to go for a swim???

And with that I bid you all adieu...

That's where I take issue. I haven't played even one of my students. Get over it, it's not happening. If anyone is getting played, it's me or someone like you.

No children were injured, mentally or physically, in the posting of this...post...

I'm not trying to gain support anymore. Why should I? Everything I have said on this board has been shut down almost immediately. The only people who get me are the ones who have a sense of humor and other teachers.

Seriously, go to Brighton. Good luck with that one... rolleyes.gif

No more comments about Jay here. I don't want to involve you. You can't benefit from anything I'm doing here...

What if I came on here and was totally professional, etc...nothing would change, except that you would be keeping your thoughts to yourself. Now they are all out in the open...that's the difference. I don't care if you like it or not. And to be honest, any parent thinking about FCUSD versus Brighton who factors in what I'm saying need only look in the mirror for the bearer of bad judgment...

Don't give yourself too much credit, they are staying in Brighton to avoid any strike and/or union issues and I don't blame them. They also think they are getting a far more rounded and better education. I think it's pretty apparent that the students and parents are far, far down on the list of importance to you and, fair or not, I'm not the only one who looks at you as the teacher's representative.

If you would have come one here totally professional, I wouldn't be questioning the teachers! When this began, I was pretty pro-teacher. I was excited to have a student in the Folsom public schools. That's changed. I have gotten the impression that teachers are immature and agressive. You've judged me, and anyone else you didn't just jump on your bandwagon, as anti-teacher and not worthy of asking any questions.

This has been incredibly enlightening. Unbelievable, in fact. Last summer I was one the farthest away from home and private schooling, but now I see how the wheels get set into motion. I'm done here.

Man I can't believe the gall of the teachers on this forum...

I tell you why they don't deserve a stinking raise in this district... it's because of the parental participation that the grades are so high here... Granite Bay, EDH and over in Loomis....

this TM70 Teacher is very typical... she doesn't really like unions...?

what a stinking contradiction... am I wrong here...?

You know when you get these teachers one on one... they are real nice people... very approachable... a couple have told me in confidence that they hate the union and they would get ostracised if the union felt they weren't going along with the program... which they do...BECAUSE.... Teachers as a group GO ALONG TO GET ALONG....

No other profession gets the stinking perks they do...
No other profession gets "tenure".... that in itself is my biggest beef with 'EDUCRATS'...

AND

Teachers as a group want to "deliver" more services to make themselves "more important"...

Teachers are the ones that support things like letting our daughters out of school to get an abortion without telling the parents...

and Teachers just don't get it that we in the private sector think they are falling down on the job when test scores on average are below those of other countries...but no... they won't take responsibility... they instead will:

blame the parents
blame the kids
blame lack of funding - This is a joke especially...... it will never be enough will it... guess what they say in other states that pay Thousands more than we do here.... you guessed it... WE NEED MORE FUNDING AND RESOURCES TO DO THE JOB....

Yea... I'll be there... at least one parent has to be there to protest you selfish bunch of cry babies....

I really don't have much respect for you as a group.... you are probably nice people... good to your neighbors or your pets... but you stink as just another political pressure group that likes to use OUR KIDS against us in the quest for more stinking salary and benefits....

So give me a break...

Tess... they took me off the mailing list... when is the next meeting...

CW....

You know I am not just a bomb thrower...

I participated in my boys education... we had the multiplication cards... the president cards at the dinner table.... they did their homework... we invested in all sorts of books for them...

I voluntereed at Oak Chan and in a school in San Jose before we moved here in 89....

I remember in San Jose as a parent of young kids the "educrats" at an "evening school function" admonishing us to "vote for prop 98"... and all of us "mush heads" with young beasties who loved our teachers just took the bait... and now the STATE BUDGET SPENDS OVER 50% FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION...!!!! it's now MANDATED IN THE CONSTITUTION....

It's after you have your kids in the system for a while that you begin question what they do...

In public schools you don't get a say about anything... if you don't think a particular teacher is a good fit for your kid... so what... they will tell you..."leave it to the professionals"...

They are always having sales for this and for that... getting you to sell this and that so they can have supplies or what ever... it was the PTA that built the overhang over at Oak Chan...

And when a simple idea of creating OUR OWN FOLSOM ONLY SCHOOL DISTRICT was put forth... man you should have seen the fangs come out of this crowd... They didn't want it.... their logic was just awful... deceitful and bogus...

it was all about the kids they said and that's why there were "agin it"... that was the biggest stinking lie of all...

It was all about senority, pay and benefits...

and it was also the time that I realized that I was not going to sit down and watch this in the paper and not get out there and at least speak my mind... maybe no one cares what I think... but at least I feel better letting these selfish crybaby types know there is one person out here who is "on to them"....

Why do you think CW, that 25% of the people who work in PUBLIC EDUCATION send their own kids to PRIVATE SCHOOLS...?

It's because they know what a lousy deal it is for their own kids...

If your kids could get into Jesuit... ? would you send him there or Folsom High...?

Why do you think that all of the spelling bees and geography bees are won by "Homeschoolers"... makes you wonder how valuable a teacher really is...

Homeschooling is what they really hate... because they know that PARENTS HAVE THE POWER AND NOT THEM....

Marie Carter a former School Board Trustee and now an English professor from what I understand at a local community college told me that the 'EDUCATION ESTABLISHMENT will just wait out the parents... because after you get your kid through his or her Junior year... your done... forget it... "hey they are almost done"... "I don't care anymore"....

And that's why they get away with what they do....

I'm going to leave now... go pump some iron... have a little chow and go out and do some disco dancing and see if I can't meet my next "ex-girl friend"...

Night ya'll...

Sanmateo60, are you a teacher? If so, I hope your voice is heard more loudly than TM's. You seem to have some sense to act like a professional.

I am a teacher in FCUSD, but unfortunatly I'm a voice of dissention. EDF, how would have splitting the district been beneficial to either Rancho or Folsom. I'm all for homeschooling and competition, the more choices the better. I stand by everything I do in my class every minute of the day. No hidden agendas!

I can only guess at your Latin, and I THINK forumreader said "It's not over until it's over," but I couldn't resist to TM70:

Puto vos esse molestissimos.

I'm really sorry to see that a newcomer to the district, CW, who also happens to be one of those parents whose participation should be welcomed and coveted in the classroom, is so turned off by the behavior of some teachers. CW, give it a chance. I think more are like your own teacher than like TM70.

For 11 years I've been a parent proponent, sometimes with lots of support, sometimes with much dissension. I take positions I think are right. I'm not on the red carpet for my outfit to be judged (I happen to like purple -- favorite color TM, in case you wanted to buy me a gift). I'm also not putting myself out in public to be threatened and bullied about my alleged attitude and the way I supposedly look. You critics say I showed a lack of concern or disdain, my family says I look mad, CW says people shouldn't get botox injections -- just what is a mother to do??

Parents rule! They love and care for their kids far more than any teacher ever could. They get paid $0 for doing what they do, and they don't whine (well, not too much) about it. They are an extremely valuable resource for any classroom teacher and should not be disparaged.
"Sometimes on purpose and sometimes by accident, teachers' unions have a long history of working against the interests of children in the name of job security for adults. And Democrats in particular have a history of facilitating this obstructionism in exchange for campaign donations and votes." . . .Amanda Ripley re "Waiting for Superman" movie.

Reading through this entire argument, it strikes me that Tessieca is the one person involved in this who has the courage to reveal her true identity. I applaud her for that honesty and openness. The little "I saw you in your purple dress" comments from one of the other posters reaks of such immaturity that I'm starting to think that poster might just be a middle school kid rather than a teacher.

I'm all for this debate being settled in a manner that all parties can walk away from feeling satisfied, but I just don't see how the innuendo, accusations of impropriety and anonymous sniping are supposed to advance the interests of the teachers.

The reality is that TM70 is just ONE person and he/she cannot possibly represent the entire population of the teachers in the district or in general. I say this because I have known, learned from and lived with some truly great teachers; people who would NEVER represent themselves the way TM70 is representing him/herself.

This may be "just a forum" to sume, but those of us posting here are real people, many of us parents. We want what's best for our kids...period. The fact is that what's best for our kids may not always be what's best for the pocketbooks of the teachers who play such a vital role in educating them. I believe in teachers and in public education, but I truly don't believe the adversarial relationship dictated by unionization is in the best interest of the kids.

I wonder what our founding fathers and our patriots would say to King George and England's commoners if they had the ability to use a forum such as this. Well, I guess the patriots would be fighting for the right to use it, and the English folks would not be allowed to....

Let's all take a moment to reflect on this democracy, so meanly fought for. Further, let's embrace the Bill of Rights, which guarantees the right to assemble, petition, speak, and protest without the fear of being unjustly demeaned or harrassed.

Everyone get a grip. What happened at the board meeting was inspirational. Not one of us was not allowed to go, had to wear a burka, beheaded.....

We're even allowed not to back the president and we can still support our troops without being thrown in jail for an indeterminent time. How could anyone not be proud that what happened at that meeting? It was American, pure and simple.

Thanks for backing up us Brighton Parents, C-Dub. I do have echo what you've said here, for TM70's benefit (not that she'll pay any attention to it.)

I am a current Brighton SCHOOL parent (that is that my daughter is in their elementary school, not just before and after care). We have already made the decision to send her there for second grade, but I have to tell you that exactly what CW is saying is true. If we were on the fence this year, like we were last year, this thread would have sent us running back to Brighton faster than our actual two week dip into public school could have.

The main thought that is in my head everytime I read this thread is "Thank goodness my daughter goes to a private school and I don't have to worry about her losing her teacher."

It may be "just a forum" that YOU (TM70) don't take seriously, but many other people do and that's how you're hurting your cause.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY GIRL.
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

sanmateo babe.....

let me ask you your question in reverse... how would not splitting the district be beneficial to either Rancho or Folsom...?

the only reason the teachers were against it was that their stinking "bargaining unit" also known as the stinking TEACHERS UNION.... would have not been in existance in the new Folsom District.... They gave teachers posters and flyers to display on their cars in the parking lots and I remember Principal of the Folsom Hills Elemenatry telling me to get off of school grounds (the parking lot) when I was passing out flyers from other parents who like me were of a like mind.... by the way I enjoyed telling her I was a taxpayer and part owner of the school so I wasn't going to leave...

The union would have had to have had an election for those teachers that wanted to remain in Folsom if they wanted to have a union at all... The senior teachers, if they wanted to stay in the existing district, would have gone to Rancho to keep their seniority....

So don't tell me or anyone else on this forum it was "about the children"...

I was there and I listened and watched how your ilk really operate... you are shrill... deceitfull... disingenous and out right liars when it comes to maintaining the status quo... which is your pay... COLA'S and benefits... just look at the results of the thread here...

It's just that stinking simple....

That's why I have no respect for the Education Establishment of which you belong...

We as taxpayers do not have a choice... oh we can put our kids in private schools... but we don't get any of the TAX MONEY back in the form of a voucher do we...?

I remember the last time the voucher was tried on the ballot... the stinking teachers union and the rest of the Educrats came out in opposition of course with all the big lies all over again.... what about your crack about that you like competition... ? that is a stinking lie again... isn't it...?

That is why you teachers when you go out there and are as shrill as you are... you turn so many people off...

And this thread has been incitefull for a lot of people... I watched CW defend you folks and believe me... she don't like me either... but we have this one thing in common at least... she woke up to how you folks really are...

You don't really care about the kids... and that is the bottom line... otherwise you'd take the deal the district has given you....?

Isn't it worth a little less pay maybe... ? in exchange for having the awesome parental involvmnet of the Folsom Parents...?

Oh I forgot... Rancho has a little more poverty and more "English Learners" so therefore maybe if they had their own school district they would have had "more flexibility" to direct funds where they are really needed....

Just thought I'd throw that in there as well...

Get back to me when you get it together....
