SacBee is reporting that William Glen will be opening in the Palladio in mid-September adjacent to Grebitus.

Yes, it will be a smaller version of their store in Old Sacramento. Have about 800 sq ft of Holiday/Christmas décor and kitchen accessories/gadgets/some tabletop.  Currently planning only as a seasonal store and keep open thru the Holidays.  Will be a great addition

How about a Farrell's Ice Cream parlor in Folsom?  My daughter went over the weekend and they had to wait about an hour.  She  loved it and I think many if not all would as well. We don't have any true ice cream parlors in Folsom

I am all for the Farrell's.  We had a birthday party of 20, and the new location was booked up for a month.  I have lots of great childhood memories of that place.

How about a Bandara or Houstons?

Something that will draw people from Roseville?

They should try to get a Yard House although Manderes would hate that!

finally!! A decent store I like, even a small version will be nice. :)

I'd be happy with any of the local-grown ice cream parlors, like Leatherbys or Gunther's; preferably Gunthers.

it would be nice too to have a good restaurant that is only one other location. I heard Hawks is opening a location in midtown.

How about some unique restaurants and not just more chains? That's what will get me there, not a restaurant at which I can eat anywhere in a mall in the USA. That's why when I go out to eat for more than quick stomach putty, I hit Midtown. I would like to have more options here in Folsom.

Banderra, Houston's, or any of the Hillstone Restaurant Group restaurants would be HUGE in Folsom.  HC Elliot should get chase them.

unique non-corporation restaurants can't afford Palladio rents though.

Unfortunately, you (and I) are in the minority here.

The success of those chains is evidence that people want what they know. They fear the new, the different, the unknown.

I went to Japan with a group some years ago, and I reluctantly joined them for a meal at the Hard Rock Cafe, but I refused to go with them to Denny's and Jack in the Box. I wanted to slap them silly.

Oops!  My mistake.  Red Brick Pizza isn't going in Palladio.  It's across the street on Iron Point.   Mods you can delete this if you want since it doesn't really belong in the Palladio thread.   Sorry.

I am still trying to compute how so many people can go out regularly to eat at restaurants at all.

I'm with y'all!  That's one reason I've only been to Palladio a couple of times (the other is that I avoid that corner of Folsom like the plague now that my office is no longer in the neighborhood).

I had a remarkably similar experience in Malaysia about 15 years ago; the difference was I was there for 3 months for work, eating out 3 meals a day, so after awhile, it was a nice change of pace once in awhile to have some "comfort food" from Jack-in-the-box or Pizza Hut. Interestingly, everything at JITB was almost exactly the same as back home...except for the ketchup, which was awful! Ditto Pizza Hut, except for the beef pepperoni, Malaysia being a predominantly muslim country.
