The thread that WILL NOT DIE!

Board meetings are rotated between RC and Folsom each month. No change was made to that rotation schedule.

If that were true, why is a March 1st meeting being moved from Folsom to Rancho Cordova? March 15th is still March. Either way, my family will drive to Rancho Cordova High School.

I wanted to speak at the last board meeting, but I will drive to Rancho Cordova to speak.

Thank you again for extending your invitation to speak to you personally. I spoke to some of my friends and they talked me out of it. After the last board meeting I think I am too intimidated to speak to you personally, but I will read my previous remarks so I can fulfill my promise to speak. Fortunately, I will not be alone.

This is the only time I'd agree, at this time anyway, with a board member, but she's right. It is Cordova's turn. It's in the gym at CHS. I'm sure there will be a lot of green then too. Do not feel intimidated. It doesn't matter who you're for or against, yours are the voices that matter. I do hope your wearing green though biggrin.gif You sound like you have a strong, well thought out opinion.

What time is the board meeting on Thursday? I have heard two different times and my neighbors and I would like to arrive promptly. Is it 6 p.m. or 7 p.m.?

Don't be intimidated. People I know who have talked to her think she's very nice. A quote from her daughter in the paper pointed out that her public persona is different from her, I think it was "nice little mommy" persona.

She is a nice lady. I wouldn't say I'm great friends with her, but I've conversed with her from both a personal and professional statepoint and I don't find her intimidating.

That's different Mylo. Be afraid, be very afraid evilguy.gif .

Big night, I guess, hopefully everyone is ready to sit for a while. Parents get to go first so I'll put my three minutes in like I said I would. I do have one question however. I overheard my student's teacher say the words, "(b*tch) up" the other day to another teacher after school (just to dispel any rumor, this was after school without any students nearby, I'm just nosy), so of course I asked what that was about. I was told that the superintendent had told the teachers to "(b*tch) up" at one of there meetings and that his rhetoric was coming back to get him. I just nodded was on my way, but I wanted to ask, what does "(b*itch) up" mean and what was it context? I can't understand why a male superintendent would tell a group of mostly woman to "(b*tch) up." Just want to get my story straight for tonight. Sorry about the "*", but it kept censoring me.

I know most of you are in the other forum commenting on the horrible tragedy in the Natoma Station area. Of course, our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I would think the school board will have a moment of silence for this family tonight

The term is referring to the first meeting Godwin had with all the teachers. He said that he wanted us to share our gripes. Once we did, he tried to shut us down. He said, during the same meeting, that he wanted to see our district at the top quartile, re: pay and benefits. The negotiating teams (union team negotiated, came back to the table with a lower offer...the district's came back with the same offer each time) decided on the districts to compare to. Godwin used a couple different districts in his updates to the public to justify his false claims of quartile and benefits. Check it out. The truth will out.

It sure looks like that superintendent is earning his pay. I'll bet he gets depressed when the weekend is over.

gone are the days when teaching met "reading riting and rithmatic"

Man I can't believe the gall of the teachers on this forum...

I tell you why they don't deserve a stinking raise in this district... it's because of the parental participation that the grades are so high here... Granite Bay, EDH and over in Loomis....

this TM70 Teacher is very typical... she doesn't really like unions...?

what a stinking contradiction... am I wrong here...?

You know when you get these teachers one on one... they are real nice people... very approachable... a couple have told me in confidence that they hate the union and they would get ostracised if the union felt they weren't going along with the program... which they do...BECAUSE.... Teachers as a group GO ALONG TO GET ALONG....

No other profession gets the stinking perks they do...
No other profession gets "tenure".... that in itself is my biggest beef with 'EDUCRATS'...

AND

Teachers as a group want to "deliver" more services to make themselves "more important"...

Teachers are the ones that support things like letting our daughters out of school to get an abortion without telling the parents...

and Teachers just don't get it that we in the private sector think they are falling down on the job when test scores on average are below those of other countries...but no... they won't take responsibility... they instead will:

blame the parents
blame the kids
blame lack of funding - This is a joke especially...... it will never be enough will it... guess what they say in other states that pay Thousands more than we do here.... you guessed it... WE NEED MORE FUNDING AND RESOURCES TO DO THE JOB....

Yea... I'll be there... at least one parent has to be there to protest you selfish bunch of cry babies....

I really don't have much respect for you as a group.... you are probably nice people... good to your neighbors or your pets... but you stink as just another political pressure group that likes to use OUR KIDS against us in the quest for more stinking salary and benefits....

So give me a break...

Tess... they took me off the mailing list... when is the next meeting...
