They thought about it when it was last available and decided against it.

Zinfandel Grille location?

or My Brother Vinnies? I guess the former Dish is too small.

I just would love to see them in the historic district.

The owner's of Manderes would love to expand with a patio, but the city would then require them to do some other work on the building, which they do not own, at a cost of thousands of dollars.

The old Lieus Chinese spot already has a patio and is probably big enough. It has been vacant long enough, that one would hope the building owners would be flexible on rent. Perhaps they could even put up a sign! Most importantly I could walk home. smile.gif

However I can understand Manderes staying where it is... Moving would be a huge investment.
I haven't had much issues with space other than at the tastings, but then I don't tend to be there Fri/Sat nights.

I think they looked at that before, but the parking is too big of an issue.

They did look at it before, but I think it was more than just parking - which is a bit odd there.
I believe it was suggested the rent and space were bigger than they were ready for when choosing the initial location. Of course I might have been drinking and not remembered this correctly.

I am not expecting them to move any time soon either.

Hey, are any of you going to be at Manderes for lunch on Friday?(Friday the 13th.) I'm going to be in town for the (now much maligned) Amgen Tour and will be there Friday around 12:00. I'll buy a round for the first 5-6 MyFolsomites that show up on Friday. If no one shows I'll have to drink it all myself and then take a cab to the hotel. tongue.gif

Hoping someone can give me a quick answer so I don't have to wade through 38 pages of Manderes posts! Is Manderes an appropriate place to take a kid for dinner? Do they have a children's menu?????

Thanks! My dad is in town from Alaska and I really wanted to have him try some of the beers that I've heard so much about!

I'd say no, though you'll see kids in there from time to time.

Not really. I wouldn't say it's dive-bar like, but it's not really a family restaurant.

Ha! Is this new insight?

Why you say that? Because I brought my son in for lunch? That's lunch! I wouldn't say it's a good sit-down family dinner "restaurant".

Clearly it's time for a new Manderes thread. This one should be closed and go into the My Folsom Hall of Fame (BTW if we don't have one of those, we should). tongue.gif
