The Burger Hut Neighborhood Classic Burger
Out of a notional 5-step scale of "Bad, Okay, Good, Very Good, Excellent"
Meat: Okay. I went with the "regular" 1/6lb burger. It's far from gourmet, and more along the lines of In'n'Out. Perhaps their 1/4lbs or doubles are better, but unfortunately it came out...
Cooked: Bad. Overdone and tasteless. The meat might have had some flavor if not completely dried out.
Cheese: Very Good. A selection of American, Cheddar, and others including Blue Crumbles. I went with Cheddar which was flavorful but not overpowering.
Bread: Okay. Better than a costco bun, but nothing to write home about. Lightly toasted, right sized for the burger, although slightly greasy.
Toppings: Good. It's a serve-yourself bar with quite a selection of pickles, peppers, sauces, even Sierra Nevada mustards. I have to give them higher ranking for quantity over quality. I went with a simple lettuce/tomato/thousand island. The tomato wasn't ripe and bland and the lettuce wilted. Sauce was out-of-the-box standard.
Fries: Okay. I almost went with Bad, but again I give them higher rating for quantity over quality. They do give you a huge portion even for a 1/2 order. However, they're just frozen, tasteless, fries.
Pickle: Yep. If you so desire, there were pickles in the "salad" bar.
Soda: Serve-yourself coke.
Service: Good. We stood around a while waiting to place our order. It's certainly a burger "hut". Order at the counter and wait for your name. Friendly people trying to make a good business. Food came out quickly and as ordered.
Ambiance: Good. As I said above, it's a diner-style burger hut. Nothing fabulous, but nicely decorated and a reasonable lunch-time buzz.
Overall: I won't be back. I put it in the same category as In'n'Out, but lower quality and higher price. It ended up being around $7.50 for burger, fries, and a coke. The burger was nothing worth noting and the fries, although abundant, were gross.

That means Dec 26, 29, & 30 I am definitely available for a burger tasting lunch, anywhere within reason.
i.e. purple place, places on the O'vale side of the river, etc.

Well, as this has been dedicated to Folsom burgers, if we were to try ruby Tuesday's, we would try the one in Folsom.

You can. I won't. Never have I had anything at a Ruby Tuesdays that wasn't made entirely of salt. I only ever go if I get overruled by a group of people I'm already headed out to lunch with

Replying to myself, cuz no one has, is anyone game for burger tasting one of these 3 days?

As my wife says, "speak now or forever hold your pizza?"

I'm out on the 26th, spending time with my fam...
I'm interested in doing something on the 29th or 30th, also thinking of going out to the range for some plinking on one of those days if anyone's interested in that too
