My solution: Ninja shopping.
Do your homework. Determine what you're going to buy, find out where it's available at a price you're willing to pay.....then get in/get out before anyone sees you (after making the purchase of course....I'm not advocating theft here).
You go in with a specific purpose and don't allow yourself to get side-tracked.
For those that profess to "love shopping", this is not for you.....but it works well for those of us who hate holiday crowds.

I guess everyone hopes both would improve.... unlikely, but we can always dream.

I do care about what they put on Sutter Street.

I think they're referring to the historical significance, etc... you know like ice cream parlors in the old west...

Sutter Street is special because it has lots of bars...hmmm, not quite right either.
Sutter Street is special because it has lousy parking...nope.
Sutter Street is special because it has delapitated buildings that are about to keel over?
Sutter Street is special....because it's old. And society likes to "protect" old things.

Hey, I'm old, where is everyone trying to protect me?

Okay, I'll stick my neck out on this one. There has been a lot of talk about malls vs. Sutter Street, but, for me at least, the distinction doesn't change my view. If there was a mall in Folsom and someone wanted to open a store like Ms. Teaz in that mall (including the now notorious 18-and-older-only room in the back), I would not want that store in that mall either. For me, it is a matter of personal preference in relation to our community. I would be just as concerned about such a store in a mall in Folsom as I am about such a store on Sutter Street.
Have at it. :-)

What do you think is going to be in that notorious 18-and-older back room?

I've read all the posts in this topic, and seen the minutes from the city council meetings, so even though this is my first post on this topic, I'm not coming out of thin air. But even with the repeated assurances of stevethedad, it's still an 18-and-older back room, and I would be concerned about it no matter the location in our community. I am probably in the minority, but it's still my opinion.
