Not sure why it should. The higher the age limit, presumably the harder-core the items behind the curtain. If I'm already concerned about 18-and-older, I would probably be concerned about a room that excludes people under 25 as well.

Yes, and no.
Yes because it is in someone else's community and is an issue that they have to tackle. I am a big believer is states rights, for example, and the democratic system.
No because I'd prefer the whole world reflect my moral values.

I appreciate your honesty even if I don't agree with it.

So far, it's not age for you, and it seems that even if it were adjacent to Folsom you'd have a problem with it.
Why exactly is it that you feel the world should adhere to your moral values? I missed that class in H.S.

Personally I make most of my decisions on logical decisions and none of the arguments against this store have been logical. So unless I hear some good and logical reasons for the store not to be on Sutter Street, I am pro Mrs. Teaz.
God (or whomever you believe in) gave man the ability to think logically for a reason. Use it.

The last part was a joke ......... but just a little one. :-)

Be careful not to lump everyone in with me. My reasons may be different from others'. Also, I agree that God gave us the ability to think logically ... and that he expects us to use that ability. I try to use it every day, as a matter of fact. If I didn't, I wouldn't make a very good corporate attorney.

For some people that is in fact what they believe (that the world should have the same moral values as they do).
For others it's a matter of protecting their property values, or the thought that their kid at 18 will rush into the place and buy everything, or something else.
Just trying to understand what it is.... something better than, everyone should believe as I do.

I think the store owners are starting to understand how the community feels about the backroom. To me it sounds like the back room will end up selling things I can buy at Spencers...I have no problems with that...
Yes, I've read most of the posts on the topic and believe even if it was just a lingerie shop, many of the contributors to this discussion would still be opposed...
I would have no problem with a lingerie shop at the future Palladio mall. Two of the more upscale outdoor malls in the Bay Area - Palo Alto and Santana Row - both have lingerie stores...
And for those of you that don't like malls - to each your own. Please don't make malls sound evil result of popular culture...

Are they lengthy posts or can you sum it up in a couple of sentences?
