Very exciting to see how things have developed!

Folsom was the first Rail stop in the West and highlighting our history in such a delightful way is an invaluable opportunity for our city.

In addition to serving commuters, the rail line will become a unique attraction for local and regional residents as well as visitors from around the nation and even the world.

Great job!

Uhhhhhhh.... not another Casino. Don't we have enough of those already popping everywhere, contributing nothing to our community while sucking eveybody's wallets dry and only lining the pockets of indian tribes who I might add don't even pay taxes.

There's one being built in Shingle Springs anyway - might be a good destination/investment source for this train idea.

There is going to be a meeting about excursion train service with the JPA up in Placerville on Wednesday the 11th of April at 6:00pm. It will be held at the Placerville fairgrounds here is a map and directions: http://www.eldoradoc...directions.html

also here is the agenda for the meeting:

http://www.sptc-jpa...._railagenda.pdf

We would really like to have as many people from the community there as possible to show their support and voice their feelings on this subject.

Hi Joe, I am trying REALLY hard to get my Dad involved with this. He is a train buff (particularly the old SOO LINE) and has long wished for something like this in this historically rich region. I noticed on the agenda that they will allow members of the community to speak. Can you share with us anything in particular you think would be helpful for us to discuss. Thanks a million for the information! This would be SO great for our communities.

This is really a great idea. Here's a similar idea that has been successful: http://www.nps.gov/a...eation/cvsr.htm

By allowing peds/bikes and equestrians all to have access to this area will be a huge asset in our community.

What about Traffic Congestion? What about intersection improvements? This just seems like another reason for people to complain about traffic in Folsom!

This sounds like a good idea, but what happens if nobody comes to ride the train? This isn't Napa people! I don't see any wineries in Folsom either? What's next Balloon Rides from the new mall? Just seems a little far fetched for me. More power to you if this becomes a reality!
