I know for certain they lost the game by kicking the field goal D:

C'mon Robert. They lost the game becasue they could not play defense in the final 3 minutes. Most so-called experts, sports radio talk show hosts, and reputable media personel all agree that Nolan did the right thing. Take the points and make them score a TD against a defense that had been playing well the last 3 1/2 weeks.
Plus, to many things could have gone wrong on 4th down. Remember how the 49ers almost cost themselves the win against Seattle a week earlier? I'm sure those memories played into Nolan's decision.

Next subject....Will Art Shell get fired after this season?

Ouch... 49ers stink.

Ouch... Packers stink.

Should be a good Stink Bowl next weekend... but I'll pick the 49ers by 14... 24-10.

Bears got lucky. Grossman with a passer rating of 1.3! They had better solve their QB problems... or they won't go far in the playoffs for a second straight year.

Have to agree with you on the Bears and Grossman. Greise needs to get some time in.

The Stink Bowl was yesterday with the Texans facing the Raiders. If your upset that they game was not on TV, don't be. I would be embarrased to call myself a Raider fan today. QB David Carr was 7-14 for 32 yards, he was sacked 5 times, and did not complete a pass in the final 32 minutes. The Texans managed just 140 yards of total offense and still won the game! Much of the blame lies on the shoulders of Sea Bass, who missed three 4th quarter field goals.

This season, almost anyone who shows up can win....except the Raiders.

That Seattle-Denver game was fun to watch.

It was a good game. The ending upset my son, however, who was already crying because Tampa Bay lost. He's really, really into football.

After yesterdays debacle....do you still think Nolan did the right thing?

6 & 6 sure looks a lot better for the wild card than 5 & 7.....I'll be very surprised if the 9ers finish better than 6 & 10!

Wow! The Saints looked awesome against the Cowboys. They might be the class of the NFC.

The Bears have great D, which will be tested tomorrow night, but the Saints have good D with outrageously potent offense.

I am predicting a Saints upset of San Diego in the Superbowl. Call your bookie.

Conspiracy theory. Does the NFL want the Saints to win? I agree about the Chargers... they look to be the tops in the NFL.

Oh yeah... the Pack won the Stink Bowl rather easily. I can gloat for a week after the 30-19 win over the Forty Whiners. Woo Hoo!

How many 9er fans still think Nolan made the right choice, by kicking the field goal against the Rams instead of going for the first down a few weeks ago?

Up to that point, Nolan had the 9ers playing beyond their abilities and since then, they are playing like one of the poorer teams in the NFL. They had a legitimate shot at a playoff spot IF he goes for the first down and beats the Rams....now they are in line for a top 10 draft pick ( which they truly need on DEFENSE).

Oh well...there is always next year!

I know people who think the NFL forced Houston to pass on Reggie Bush

Funny thing is, yesterday he did go for it on 4th down in a situation where it wasn't critical.

I agree that the team does not seem to be playing with the same intensity. He took the momentum out of them.

I also don't get why he puts hicks in on short yardage situations.

I remember the announcer giving praise to Nolan for "going for it" on 4th & 3, saying by him doing this, it was giving a vote of confidence to his offense...something a young team needed!

I think Nolan is doing a good job overall....he just made the wrong choice against the Rams.

I'm thinking if there is a conspiracy theory, then the NFL wants the Saints to win because of Katrina. It would be a big boost to the Big Easy. Notice the "Patriots" won the Super Bowl after 9/11?

Honestly... I wouldn't doubt this one either.

Its the feel good story. The Saints win and help rebuild New Orleans.

Go Chargers!
