I wish Antonella would have gotten the boot. Oh well. There is always a pretty girl who isn't that good, hanging around longer than she should.

She absolutely should have gone. She's cute but there are better looking girls in the competetion with way better voices.

Like that Nicole girl that got the boot. She just picked the wrong song.

So did the girl who did the Pretenders cover.

You guys are good old diehard fans. I can't possibly watch this stuff 3x/week. I'll wait until the rest of you cull the herd more. And, I don't give any credence to the sour grapes of Carmen Rasmussen about the voting not being fair. It's not that I don't think it might be unfair, but you don't go to a loser and ask if the vote were fair -- of course not, they lost!

And Democrats in particular have a history of facilitating this obstructionism in exchange for campaign donations and votes." . . .Amanda Ripley re "Waiting for Superman" movie.

I guess I'm a freak, because I like Sanjaya. I think he's a cutie.

As for Carmen - she was on way longer than she should have been, so she should have no gripes about the voting. Also, I thought she looked awful! WAY too much makeup.

I agree with both. I just can't spend that much time watching TV. Perhaps I won't get into it this year after all!

Same here. My kids love it (an excuse to stay up late) but I just can't sit still that long. The 2-hour shows are the worst.

It's actually not that long when you fast-forward through the extra stuff. I love my DVR.

DVR is the greatest thing since sliced bread, it only takes about 30 minutes to hear all of the songs. Nothing personal, judges and Ryan, but no one cares what you say.

I have to say that from what little I've seen, Ryan's style has changed and he seems more caring and authentic...or is it just me becoming uncaring and phoney?

This program is probably the only one that will take me away from my right wacko tv watching of Fox News or the Military Channel....

Regarding Ryan... I think he is being sincere and I've noticed even Simon taking the time to tell a contestant where they went wrong... such as not putting their own style to a song or not hitting a high note...

What got me hooked on this show last year was the show began to use big name stars in the music business to give these young people some pointers.. stars such Stevie Wonder and Barry Manilow are great examples...

The result of that was you got to see what practice and coaching can do to a performer if they choose to use the information and pracitce... practice... practice...

I fell in love with that little Kelly Pickler and watched her grow... Daughtry was just amazing and got better and better.. Taylor seemed to just overcome all the objections that Simon could throw out at him...

Now this year... I have noticed that all three of the judges have told those that didn't do well what they did wrong and how they can improve...Simon can be direct when he says, "it was just ok, or it was just vanilla or I can hear that in any club in LA"... but then he'd follow up with a comment to help that contestant...

Because the bottom line is they got that far and they can come back and compete like a couple of them have if they get voted off the show...

I agree that this year is going to be a female year... some of those gals really have some pipes and presence... I can't think of one guy except maybe that kid that did the back up singing for years... you know the one with the "fro"...I forget his name... good singer though...

He probably means the red-head dog walker. I think she is very trippy. She kind of creeps me out.

I actually like the beatbox guy (Blake). I thought he sounded good. Better than quite a few of the guys. He's in an a capella band, though, so he has to be able to sing pretty well.

I wish Antonella would have gotten the boot. Oh well. There is always a pretty girl who isn't that good, hanging around longer than she should.

I totally agree with you! Joanneschmoe has a celebrity gossip thread on here and she up dates it all day long, and she's pretty funny.....anyway she wrote this yesterday about American Idol:

joannneschmoe

Saturday 2/24/07

American Idol gossip makes Anna and Britney take a backseat today. First of all Antonella Barba wasn’t voted off, even after her underage drinking and sitting on the potty pictures. Well right after the show MORE pictures were released. Of Antonella with and without her shirt on…um eating salami…err... licking a lolly pop…sword swallowing. (Giving blow jobs) I believe she will be falling on the sword quickly in American Idol…if they kick people with criminal records; I’m pretty sure underage porn would get her tossed. (Speaking of tossed, there are NO pictures of her doing that…yet. Yes I am sorry mom) and don’t ask me for links, I have seen the pictures, they are clear and they are definitely her. Everyone thinks that her friend that got cut, Amanda Coluccio is the one leaking the photo’s… Note to her parents: Take AWAY her camera phone

All is not bad with American idol though. Singers Cavett Carr and Darold Gray failed to make it through to the final rounds of the current season after auditioning together in LA, however they did manage to fall in love and get engaged on Valentines Day…..awwww! (I hope they kept their day jobs)
AND the stars are lining up to perform on Idol this year. Besides Jlo and Gwen Stephani, Jon Bon Jovi, Barry Gibb, Diana Ross and Herman's Hermits star Peter Noone will all be on idol….no word on if they are going to post camera phone porn picture as well.

Yes, the red-head dog walker with the creepy body movements and weird stare. I am scared of her. Make her go away.

I wonder if Antonella will be around this week, or if she'll be booted, as they did with Frenchy. Antonella's pics are much more graphic.

Hey I've been copy and pasted...is that the sincerest form of flattery? I think Antonella is really lucky that Anna died and Brit went nutz...it might give her a stay but I doubt it...as soon as I know anything I'll post it in my gossip thread...

The boys did better last night, though that Sanjaya kid was pretty creepy this time around. The navy guy looks like an alien.

Most others were pretty darn good.

I feel bad for Sanjaya. That cat has a decent voice and has admitted he prefers to sing Jazz. Guess that wont hold up to the beatboxers (jamiraquai cover) and wannbe gangstas (Geek in the pink).

Funny how the AI stylists are already changing the singers appearances.

Yikes... how did Sanjaya survive. 100 Percent creepy performance. Who the heck voted for this guy???
