I don't remember who took last year, but think I fell just short of the top prize.
I like the scoring system too.

If I understand the scoring correctly (and SacKen, I'm not complaining), if Memphis wins, I still don't win the tourney even though I'm the only one picking the Nat'l Champion, right? Just one point for each win times seed, regardless of "importance" of game.
That would make two years in a row at #2. sigh

What happened?
They played the games. Kansas went at it and the game was basically over at half. Memphis and Kansas should make for a very good game. NC had the talent and everybody picked them to go all the way but they just couldn't get it done today!

It wasn't really over at half because UNC came within four not long after. Kansas pulled it together though, and stopped the mayhem.

WOW what a game, Memphis missing free throws will cost them! Clutch shot for that 3 to tie.

Man! That was crazy! Memphis choked big time! It has to be psychological at that point. The pressure was too great.
What a game!

Memphis did choke. In good games, freethrows make or break you. Darn it, I really wanted Memphis to win. Love/Rose rock.
Congrats Kansas, and Palango, too.

That does rank up there in the choke dept. Maybe in the Top 5 of All Time?? Kinda like when a certain player, who will remain nameless, tried to call a time-out in the tournament when he played for Michigan....the only problem was MICHIGAN WAS OUT OF TIME-OUTS !!!!, but I digress bigtime.

The Memphis players Freethrow shooting was to be expected and was overdue because they did fairly well through the tourney. It caught up to them at the wrong time.
So it all falls down to the coach and his staff. Man if I was a memphis fan, I was would be soooo p##D off because they were ahead by 9 points with about 2 minutres and the coaching down the stretch was horrible.

BTW, I do see the value in having a round multiplier in the scoring. I think picking correctly in the later rounds should have some bonus applied so that it has compensating value over picking a couple good upset picks in rounds one and two but blowing the rest of the bracket.
Until next year...

Memphis was trying to foul at the end there... but the refs weren't calling it.

As the undisputed 2008 MyFolsom.com champion, I predict that I will go from first place finish in 2008 to last place in 2009. I have not had the time to watch or follow much college basketball (such a shame, but life's too busy).
I really hope that you guys keep the SAME exact format as last year because it was exciting and very unpredictable. Its not about how many you predict right, but you get mucho points for each win in the latter rounds. So even if you guess the champion wroing, you have MORE wins (predictions or teams standing) in the final rounds that will propel you. This is to me is very exciting and VERY unpredictable.
