This is a red city in a middle of the road county.... and on some days... I get real red and will pull out the old "stars and bars" and fly it on my boat when I'm out there on the lake.....
Hey... so what if Rush has a few pills to stop some pain....or even getting high....
at least he's not slurping at the public trough like Nancy Peolosi... or Diane Feinstein and lining their pockets and husbands pockets.....or telling you and me to drive a hybrid car or ride public transit while their ilk fly in G-5's... but because they pay into some scheme called buying carbon offsets...the libs will give them a pass....
and who says we're Republicans... I am not and haven't been for years.....but I'm sure as heck no stinking Dem....
There are just a lot of folks who live here that pay lots of taxes and it just so happens that it's the Liberal Socialist Democrats that want all of our money... after all they know much better than you how to spend it... because you are just too stinking irresponsible...
They are in fact... NAZI'S... Nazi's you know were libs in Germany... Hitler was an enviromentalist and animal rights activist... and every place you see socialism you see failure...and you see bigotry....
Oh and don't forget the "fundamentalist" churches we have here in town.... lot's of Christians... that ought to scare anyone liberal...
get back to me...

bellaj,
I think if you let your political ideology define your life, it will be difficult for you to find happiness anywhere.

I don't take offense from liberals, just as I didn't when my kids acted out during the teen growing years. If you don't see the light you don't. most liberal positions are in a way sort of funny.
they see the world in a way that doesn't exist and it only gets scary when they heard up and get in a position where they can make policy...like the next election scares me
I don't know where granite bay begins and ends, sort of like roseville and rocklin. at least when you are talking about folsom you know where you are. heck we even split up folsom where the fancy folks live east of oak and the rest live west
if it wasn't so much fun to read when liberals spout off I would say they could live in their own place but then again they do in the peoples republic of davis.
I go back to the old saying that a conservative is a liberal who was mugged the night before.
I don't think old Robert G sits on a throne, I see him as one of the smartest folks on the forum. I worry about EDF liking rush too much cause I think rush is more of a entertainer
my guy is is bill o'rieley is is right on most of the issues.
anoter guy to watch who has written a new book they talked about on the radio is old lee iacocca who blasts all the politicians for their motives and seems to make a lot of sense. tho book is called "where have all the leaders gone" anybody heard of it?

I must have misunderstood your post asking me how high was that throne I was sitting on. Where you intending for that to be a compliment?
Its rather humerous listening to some talk about mean spirited republicans and their hateful talk, then turn around and use the same talk towards republicans/conservatives and feel they are justified.
Calling others names, ,labeling people you don't know, posting your demeaning comments and not having the willingness to accept that others may be offended by the original posters title, is proof enough to many that its NOT just Rush that needs medication.
Thanks to some of you for once again for illustrating that the REPs/Conservatives don't have a monoploy on hypocrisy.

compliment? no.
do you not read what you write? everything you just stated was exactly how you responded to the poster

CW, Her title to the post was offensive and condescending. It was a clearly a reflection of her feelings towards conservatives. I suspect since you too aren't a big fan of conservatives you don't see the borderline hatefulness in the title and implied those things.
If she had asked about the diversity of GB, issues or political leanings I would not have had any issue, but she came out guns blasting away towards conservatives. So I would say she was very demeaning towards conservatives in her title.
Clearly conservatives would agree there are double standards, in that those on the right are held to a different standard of accountability to those on the left regarding political correctness.
I will speak up when I see the double standard being used....and I will do it for both sides!

You read WAY too much into what she was saying. But the fact remains that you personally attacked her intelligence, her assumed ideology and the like. We've even got people calling liberals Nazis, to which I'm sure my Jewish husband would take extreme personal offense.
Regardless, too much of one thing is bad, whether you agree with it or not. As you know, I'm a liberal. Yet I moved from Madison, Wisconsin because it was TOO liberal. There was no balance and nothing was getting done. One whole side of thought is squashed. I personally believe it's ruining my favorite city in the country. And I agree with these people!
So I guess in answer to her question: Bellaj, if you think that if you were around a large majority of conservatives and they would attack you for your beliefs and politics, the answer is an obvious yes.

This post should be preserved and published every time there is a debate over philosophical beliefs!
So you want to move from your liberal neighborhood to a conservative neighborhood for better schools, yet you are worried about it being overly conservative?
Did you ever stop and think that maybe the reason why the schools in your more liberal neighborhood aren't as good as schools in the conservative neighborhoods is the result of the inherrent failure of liberalism?
If I could politely suggest rather than moving to neighborhoods with better schools, you should first reconsider your philosophical beliefs. Maybe do a study on why schools in neighborhoods with simliar thinkers like yourself aren't as successful as others who think differently?
Then again, you could just blame society along with the conservatives, as the reason why some schools are better than others, then launch your crusade of opening the eyes of the conservatives around you while your children are reaping the rerwards of the better schools your new conservative neighbors established.
Good luck!

This might be one of the best posts yet made on this forum.

How'd I miss this one?
I think more and more liberals are moving here, and more and more conservatives are realizing that some conservative policies do more harm than good, and are 'liberaling up'. Of course, they won't admit it.

This on the other hand might be one of the most ridiculous posts on the forum. Why would a conservative "liberal up" unless they had a severe head injury?

So if this wasn't a compliment, was it intended to be demeaning?
If it was intended to be demeaning then maybe your post indicating I was the only one posting demeaning things is incorrect....unless being accurate isn't important to you.

ballaj, what type of home are you looking for? Property for horses. A big back yard fenced in for big dogs? A piece of property that is already fully manicured lawn? A pool? Close or far from a school? Single story?
I think that you might want to find out what type of home your looking for, then see what type of area it is in. Is it in a pocket-cul de sac clase to a road, etc. Than look around and see how many churches, stores, gas stations are nearby. That's a good indicator of traffic.
Once you have localized one or two places it might be better to come back and ask specific questions about that area. Like are cars allowed to park overnight.
As far as conservative views or liberal views being pushed on your family I just don't think that will happen at all unless you get a really wacked neighbor. So maybe some homework and meeting the neighbors before signing any papers would be a good idea.
I encourage you to go to the local school that is within the attendence boundaries and request a walk through with the principal. Also check out the middle and high school the children will attend in the future. All are good indicators of the moral and civic compass which your children will be acquainted with.
Good luck.

Well, would you be happy living someplace where everyone is liberal? I don't have bad feelings towards conservatives, just hostile ones who are incapable of discussion with people who don't share their views-- like some of the hostile posts on this thread.
I find there can be hostilities from every view point.
This world would be very boring if we all held the same view point.
