Great pics! Where is that in the ED National Forest? I'm seriously considering getting a dirtbike and am very interested in learning where a green sticker bike can legally be ridden (outside of Prairie City). Exploring the woods sounds like huge fun!

See the rock wall in the 1st set of pics?

Chris had to BUILD that wall as a kid!! He had to spend MANY hours going through the fields collecting rocks, and then he had to stack them!!

I love that wall.

This is the area that we were in:

Personally I would only get a dual sport, just because you can go from trail to trail without a truck. When I go out riding without my son I usually just ride there instead of using the truck. A couple of weeks ago I did a 180 mile loop, mostly dirt, back and forth from Wentworth Springs Rd, up near Georgetown to Hwy 88. I could not have done it on a green sticker bike though, had to have the license plate.

I just sold my 1974 CB750 that I've owned since 1977. The winning bidder on ebay is importing it back to Japan.

Modifications include, 836cc Big Bore kit, Aluminum connecting rods, head ported, oversize valves, hi-performance camshaft, crankshaft lightened & balanced, Mikuni Solex twin 2-barrel side draft carbs, Lester Mag Wheels, Kirker Header, K&N Air filter, cafe fairing w/Halogen headlamp, Lockhart Oil Cooler, solid state ignition, high performance coils, tapered roller bearings in triple tree, fork brace, & custom front fender.

Seat tail piece, front forks, triple tree, dual front discs are from a 77-78 vintage Honda CB750F (aka Supersport). Frame, swingarm, fork lowers, and handlebar switch pieces all have been powder coated.

I would rather be Backpacking

thats a very nice modified classic! and it doesn't surprise me to hear that someone from Japan bought it, those are collectors items these day, ..I bet it was hard to depart with..

sounds like you got a lot of good use out of the bike, having owned it for that long, I had a 99 CB750 for a few years - they're good bikes for sure. Are you getting anything else?

Yes, it hurt to let it go. But for the last 5 or so years, it has been sitting around taking up garage space and not being ridden. I do expect to get another bike someday though. Maybe in a few year's when I feel my son is big enough to be a passenger, so I can drop him off at school on my way to work.

Well I was trying to get my pics uploaded but they are to big and I am so not very computer savy lets say..

Anyways- My boys both ride the oldest one 16 now started at 9 and of course the little one at that time was 4 so he started then they both love it. The older one raced at Sac Raceway for two seasons and was the #1 for one season in the 65 class. He has since grown a little and now rides a kx250 and the 10 year old has new moved into the kx65... I don't ride well sometimes I ride the 50 we have but I love to go watch them at Praire City just have fun it's just a real fun time always.....

Soon as I figure out these pics I will post...

Hey, some of us from advrider.com have set up a dual sport ride this weekend. I believe some of the GCDSR guys are coming too. Check it out, we meet at 9 at Raleys parking lot (Natoma And Green Valley)

rolleyes.gif My thread, it will not go there. I bet I could outride you on a 400cc scooter or even my 215cc 2 stroke one.

Agreed, heck I can out ride most people on todays Ninja 250cc, it's all about the rider. (of course good tires will only help)

It is hard to pick a bad motorcyce or scooter made by any major manufactuer these days. Too bad I can't make the ride this weekend, I have a CIM marathon to run. Maybe next time - keep us posted.

But when you got to the finish line first you would be on a scooter.
