I'd love it.

Regarding the Badgers, don't count them out. All the matters at the end of the game is that you can put a W in the column. Bielema's proven time and time again, except for one loss against Michigan last year, that they can do that. 17-1 under him.

But they haven't beaten anybody during this time, other than Arkansas in last years bowl game. Its a fact their non-conference schedule is the weakest of any highly ranked team. The Big 10 is overrated, although it might have more balance this year than it has been in the past. The Badgers have to play Ohio State & Michigan back to back and if they run the table and win both of these games, I'd say they would be worthy of a top 5 rating.

They do beat the teams they are supposed to beat and with the other top teams loosing they deserve to be moved up in the rankings, but if they loose they will probably drop a lot farther than other teams who lost their first game.

I don't dislike the Badgers, I'd cheer for them if they played ND or the Chicago Bears!

It will depend on Longshore's injury, but after personally ragging on the Cal defense all year, they were quite impressive and USC looked beatable. But at the same time I really think if any time a loss warranted a movement up the polls, Oregon deserved it because they played an excellent game on both sides also. There are very few teams with quality losses (though I suspect Auburn is better than most will admit).

At least the good news in the interim for Cal is that they have two weeks off before a home date with Oregon St, but based on the fact that they were entirely afraid to have Riley come in and throw even one singular pass to try to put the game away, that doesn't instill confidence that Cal can survive even one week with Longshore out.

I agree that when you compare to who teams are losing to, Wisconsin should be given tons of credit for simply winning their games.

USF and Kentucky in the top ten....

Cal could be ranked 3rd this week, after a good win at Oregon.

Cal and USC both got scares and escaped with wins. USC is likely to take out some frustration on Stanford this week. A winless Notre Dame taking out USC is a very remote possibility given the emotion involved in that game but don't bet on it. A totally winless Notre Dame would be a better bet.

Thanks for playing Wisconsin. They abrely escaped playing the Little Sisters of Mercy thus far and we're handled pretty well by Illinois.

You know you're over-ranked (#5) when even the oddsmakers have you as the underdog to an unranked team (although I would be shocked if the Illini aren't ranked in the next poll).

Ohio State has been very similar, so it wouldn't be shocking to see Purdue beat them later.

I would love to see Florida knock off LSU, but LSU looks tremendous and it's in the Bayou. Florida's defense is coming apart, so beating LSU will be tough.

How about those Fightin Illini!

The Badgers had been doing just enough to win, but eventually when your not that strong or dominat of a team you loose.

The Big 10 may actually be a stronger conference this season than last season as many of the teams have gotten better. Last year though they may have had a collection of some of the worst patsies out of any major conference, which enabled to top teams to look better than what they were.

I'm starting to think maybe this year the Big 10 will have a winning Bowl season.

At least there is one winning football team in Illinois!

The Badgers will still make it to a bowl game, maybe make it out west and you can go and see them play.
Since the Badgers really struggled to put away Las Vegas and didn't dominate the other teams they should have, its a lot easier for those of us who don't have the other BIG RED in our hearts, to look at this more objectively. I don't think they are going to run the table and go to the Rose Bowl, but it is still possible.

If the Packers beat Da Bears, this could be a bad weekend for someone! biggrin.gif

USC stunned by STANFORD!!!!!!!!!!!!! cheer.gif

Cal could be a quarter away from a #1 ranking.... LSU front four being shut down. (Not sure if that is a good thing or not, the way things are going this year!)

I never thought they were going for a national title, but the object of the game is to win and up until today they had the nation's longest winning streak. Consistency is valuable. Or was. wink.gif

The way things are going they could still be very well in the race tongue.gif

I'm shocked that LSU had to take all those gambles to win, but they are really the only complete team that can do so successfully and deserve the #1 ranking. Florida's offense is more potent than last year, but they stopped LSU short a number of times on fourth down but let them convert on second effort.

After last week I wasn't expecting this week to be so eventful. i guess this is the norm now wacko.gif

This college football season has been amazing... upsets everywhere!

I knew Booty was going to cost USC, but against Stanford? Wow! If USC hopes to beat Cal and/ or Oregon, they better go with Sanchez.

Amazing day in college football, but it's now a weekly occurrence.
