Try PF Chang in Roseville or Sacramento. Of Course you would have to pay twice more than T2Yan.
My personal opinion: PF Chang is the Best Chinese Restaurant in the Sacramento Region. Fats is almost as good as PF Chang.

The folks at T2Yan are nice folks however. T2Yan is a GREAT asset to the city of Folsom.

Hi Spicy, I've been to PF Changs in Roseville a few times and it is pretty good....but the best? really?

I'll never understand why you'd pick a big chain restaurant which are famous for using frozen (non-fresh) foods over a smaller independent place that does use fresh foods.

but like you've always said, its all a matter of personal preference and the type of food that an individual prefers.

is a PF Changs ever coming to Folsom?

davburr,
Thank you for being pleasant toward me.
Any restaurants that please my palate whether chain or independent make no difference to me.
In general, PF Chang and Fats do use better ingredients than independent Chinese places.

PF Chang is coming to Folsom in 2008 so I hear. I do not know the exact location nor the exact date yet.

Happy Holidays!

Bon Appétit!

I thought we saw PF Changs on the Palladio prospects list.

I like it, but I wouldn't say it's the best...

I heard PF is coming to the new FM mall. Isn't Pei Wei on Iron Point a PFChang chain? I don't want to suggest that a chain restaurant can't have good food. And there are plenty of "par at best" chef/owners at independents (ie - number of restaurants in FM to which I would not return). However, it's my belief that FM is saturated with chain restaurants and is suffering from an absence of cuisine with authenticity, character and imagination. University Ave in Palo Alto would be a nice goal. When you ask "where should we go for lunch/dinner today" and your small group is indifferent between BJ's, Ruby's, MacGrill, Malabar and almost every other FM suggestion, we've reached saturation. Can we not tolerate some variety?

After reading all the posts I had to give it a try. I was greeted promptly and upon placing my order was offered a complimentary drink while waiting.

The food was by far the best Chinese I have had Folsom. My wife even liked it and she NEVER likes any restaurant food.

Needless to say, I'll be back.

I really like that place. It's not the Ritz, but it's a nice little joint with a cool atmosphere, nice people and good chinese food.

They seem to care about their customers, too. The owner's biz cards are on the counter. On the back the ask for feedback.

Perhaps you could organize a Christmas Party for MyFolsom at T2Yan, your favorite place?

Happy Holidays!

I like parties. I am not so sure Yan can handle one, due to their size. We'd have to commit some bucks to get them to be open just for us.

We get hit or miss responses for our get togethers. The last one, I think we had 5 or 6 members show up.

I have asked folks to make the Taste of December, Dec. 1, 630 pm, Rancho City Hall a myfolsom meet up event, and several have said they'd go. Can you make it?

stevethedad,
Thank you for asking. I prefer to remain anonymous and won't be able to atend.
I will be leaving MYFolsom.com in about a month. My life will move on.
I sincerely hope Folsom continues to attract and to have decent folks like you, stevethedad.

If you throw a Christmas Party at T2Yan, just tell everyone Spicy will be there...I am sure a few will show up especially ChipShot, mylo, davburr.

Best Wishes,

Spicy

stevethedad,
A friend told me that there was a group of people had a party at T2Yan last month.
The cost for each person was about $12-$14, Inclusive, no commitment for the number of guests. No Host Cocktail.
8-10 course meal.

I am not sure if my friend's info was correct or not. Please check with T2Yan.

you did not answer my question.
What time/day did you ORDER the Orange Lunch Special?
Their lunch time: 11am-3pm, Monday-Friday.

Um, FREAKING LUNCH TIME? how do I buy a lunch special when it's not lunch time when they aren't supposed to serve the lunch special at non lunch times?

11:45. There.

By the way 8.20$ doesn't fit into the category of 6.95 or 9.75, I guess you didn't make that deduction..
