The old Denny's is Streets of London. Are you maybe thinking of the old Lyon's/old Sizzler or is this in another city someplace?

Lyons, Denny's, IHop, Sizzler...they all seem the same to me.

I mean that location where the China Buffet is going in. My main point is.....

$20,000!?! A MONTH?? JEEZ!!

Not sure what’s the leasing rate for these places is…
I am guessing only…

El Rey (next to Gold Miner Café) $2500 + CAM
Tasty Time (near Safeway) $3,000 + CAM
Suishin Sushi $3600 (including CAM)
The Ugly Mug $4,200 (including CAM)
It’s a Grind (Folsom Blvd) $4,000 + CAM
GoodFellas Express $4,500 + CAM
Sushi Shack $5,100 (including CAM)
O’Brot $5,300 (including CAM)
It’s a Grind (Bel Air) $6,000 + CAM
T2Yan $6000 (incuding CAM)
Noble Roman’s Pizza (across from Blockbuster) $6,000 (including CAM)
Pho Bac Hoa Viet $7,000 (including CAM)
Pachanga $7,000 (including CAM)
Ernie’s of Tahoe $11,000 + CAM
Waffle House (next to Tokyo Sushi, Wal-Mart Center) $12,000 (including CAM)
Mama Ann's $12,000 + CAM
China Buffet $20,000 (including CAM)

Again, this is a wild guess.

No one is forced to rent a certain space. The landlords charge what tenants are willing to pay. If the tenant thinks the rent is too much they can leave or not agree to lease in the first place.

thats probably why there are still so many empty brand new buildings around town - it amazes me that developers keep building them when the current places are not even filled to 70% capacity yet

They can leave? Easy Exit? How?

CBRE is known as a RUTHLESS Property Management so I hear.

The way I hear it, build now for lower costs (especially the land cost), take the financial loss with the vacancies for awhile while personal income is high, then when personal income is lower, collect the rents.

There are available spaces. If the business is not viable it is not the landlord's fault. The business is not viable because the product or service isn't of sufficient financial value to customers to cover the costs of operating that business. It is a free marketplace at work. The business owners can try to lower cost and/or increase revenue, or find something else to do for a living.

Why do you keep doing that?

It's really rude.

How can you continue to make statements like that without facilitating at least an expression that backs up a claim which was obviously meant to cause harm to the business?

If you have some kind of beef with the company go sue them or something.

When Spicy is so reckless with her opinions about certain businesses it's reasonable to assume that her opinions about a given restaurant may be similarly reckless.

Yeah, but see, I don't give a cruddy who-dee if Spicy is psychologically sound or not. At lest try to appear so when making hurtful claims against a company.

Know what I'm saying?
