Many of the restaurants closed because of the POOR REVENUE and the inability to pay the bills especially the lease.

Typical known reasons given by business owners for closing down the business:
Illness: self or family
Partnership doesn’t workout
Owner moved away
Owner has another business

Examples:
Jennie's: illness (jennie:abdominal/stomach)
Cuevitas Mexican Bistro: family illness
Lieu's Chinese: family illness

When somebody started a thread asking what happened to Jennie's you said it was because of poor revenue (or along those lines). Now you changed your tune because somebody else said that wasn't true. Goes to show you don't really know it all. End of story about Jennie's. Seriously!!

Lets AGREE TO DISAGREE and move on!

no more Jennies gossip!

Why don't we all agree that you give it a rest! You need to do something else than put your nose where it doesn't belong. You seem to get pleasure out of other's loss and you can't stop rubbing it in any chance you get. Quit giving your unsolicited suggestions - you come up as a frustrated food critic wannabe. Have you even gone to all these places (even internationally) or are they researched info? More than once, you've been wrong about why establishments have closed down so cut the c***! By the way, I know the owner of PitaPita and they're not Lebanese.

Now for the real reason why this thread's been started in the first place: The new bistro! Sounds interesting and would definitely give it a try soon..... Anybody else experienced it yet? Is it okay to bring kids? I was thinking maybe early or late lunch is the best time to bring them (when it's not too busy so we don't disturb other patrons). Looking forward to more good reviews!

It is ok to bring your kids. They do have a kids menu and they have kids too..... all the sauces,
dressing, bread and desserts are made there. only ketchup is bought and that is because the kids like them with their french fries.

I don't have any anger issues whatsoever. My response was not addressed in an angry manner, but of annoyance. I am probably one of the most patient people you'll know (and having children have thought me how to be MORE patient). On the other hand, you need to get a hobby (non-food) or if there's a book on how to control your nosy and know-it-all attitude, you can read that. End of discussion.

For chrissakes, it's like ten bucks and 30 min of your time, just go try it if you care.

Yes, and it is EXCELLENT. Do not hesitate to try it out. This is a chef who is giving it a go at his own restaurant and he seems to be bringing a lot of refinement to the table. He and his wife were very present in the dining room when we ate and very pleasant. You can see they really want to please.

The duck confit and the chicken were both excellent, as were the salads. GO!!

Yes, they are different. Although the appetizers were basically the same, the dinner menu had some other larger dinner plates.

and you liked the kobe burger on the lunch menu, as I recall. that wasn't on the dinner menu. I think I may be lunching there this week.....

Mylo, did they give you a coupon for free salad or pomme frites when you went?

No, I didn't get any coupons sad.gif That's okay, I'll still be back. I do fear for this place though, as so many independent restaurants struggle. Give Folsom Bistro your business and show that Folsom can support quality fresh food!

I second that motion...

No. Traffic problems/issues going over there. Plenty of good places in Folsom-proper that aren't a hassle getting to and getting out of. Don't be naive..... wink.gif
I have opinions, you have opinions. We'll just call it even...is that OK ??
