Would I be correct in assuming that today's rain had little effect, and I could still head out there on, say, Friday?

Sure, if you have a pair of shoes you're not too attached to and you don't mind having them sucked off in the mud.

Yes you would

I must give credit to Craig Learoyd too - he discovered all this before me and half the pictures are his. They don't really say anything about that in the news story but I can't hog all the glory! They called me b/c it was my website and I actually thought they would plug this website, not their own!

Hi John,
Could you please be sure to tell people this is a protected archaeological site and to look, don't touch or take things home? I'm concerned with all the publicity that people are going to be out there trying to look for artifacts.

I've amended the article to note not to take anything... I'll amend to say not to touch anything as well. It's important to note that it really is an archeology site and even moving them is a bad idea, because once things are moved, archeologists can't understand the context of it...

Didn't you say not to take anything in the video too?

^ yes, I did.

I went again today and I really have a better understanding for things now. I even have a lot of GPS coords so I can map out what I know of. Quite fascinating stuff.

good, John. by the way, it is apparently not Mormon Island. It's an old winery. Probably Red Bank.
