Let's say you love mexican food and italian food, but make a bizarre pledge to only eat italian food for the rest of your life. Does that mean that you no longer like mexican food, since you vowed not to eat it? If I go on a diet, do I no longer like ice cream, just because I'm not allowed to eat it? Sorry Supermom, but your argument doesn't quite fly.

I ceretainly hope you don't equate the loe of your life to food. Surely our love for another human being is based on more than sex? See, I believe that love is long lasting through the end of your life. Minus ofcoarse--irreconciable differences.

This to me is the same as the guy in his mid 40's going through a mid life crisis. Only--for many guys--quick glances at the 20 year old girl in the bikini is a passing glance. Why? Because eye candy is just that. Not fulfilling. No true umpph to the soul and heart.

So to compare food discipline to mates is shallow. Now when you want to compare shallow mens choices in lifelong mates to their wilder one night cheating stands with a 20 year old girl......then I'd have to say that the guy ain't committed to his spouse and family.

Regardless of whether or not he or she is heterosexual or bisexual. Period.

You make the bed you lie in. You stick it out.

So--once your married ( whether homosexual, heterosexual or even bisexual) you have chosen that person as your life long mate. What's so hard to understand about that?

Life long mate, check. What's that got to do with sexual preference? I'm straight, I married a female.. I'm still heterosexual. My sexual preference is still women. Gay guy forms 'civil union' to another man, he's still gay. He still prefers men, even if committed to just one. Bi-sexual marries/unions with some gender, still bi-sexual, still prefers both (I guess that really means no-preference). What's so hard about that?

Being straight doesn't mean I have to run around with every woman I see. Just as the same doesn't apply to gays (despite what the books say). The same applies to bisexuals. Just because you prefer both, doesn't mean you have to screw everybody!

Supermom, did you screw everyone you met before you got married?

Do you find men handsome or sexy who aren't your husband? It's ok, really. As long as you don't act on it. Greg knows that I drool over Hugh Jackman, but that doesn't make me unfaithful to my husband. If I were physically attracted to Catherine Zeta Jones too, that would make me bisexual. Your sexual predilections have nothing to do with whether or to whom you're committed. It has to do with what you like.

These and a 6pack in the high school parking lot would be a reasonable comparison to dining at Chili's

I have appreciated your reviews and comments in general, you are an A class snob with comments like that or I have failed to recognize your humor or jesting. Sure it's a chain but apparently a very successful one. Maybe they enjoy the food, the staff, a game on TV or just a good place to go with friends. Do you think patrons that eat in chain restaurants are sheep or don't have sophisticated palates?

I prefer GMC, Sutter St & Lake Forest Cafe over IHOP but I don't knock IHOP and other chains because I have eaten there occassionally and either liked what I ate or got what I was looking for.

These forums are not supposed to be focused on complaining, insulting and making restaurant proprietors, customers and forum readers feel like a lower class of people because they have a different opinion than yours. This is the epitemy of snobbery. Hats off if you own the Masque, Bidwell Street Bistro, Red Bud, Biba's, Rick's Dessert Diner etc. but there is a need for all the levels of businesses. If the need isn't there or the business doesn't fill it (or does it poorly), they simply get out of the kitchen to borrow an old phrase.

Perhaps following the rule that "if you cant say something nice, dont say it" would work. Someone made a big snit over Hearts of Europe and when my wife came home from a major project milestone celebration with her coworkers I was surprised to hear that the team enjoyed the new place with a few miscues after only being open a short time.

Life is too short -- drink good food and wine with friends and family and enjoy the time we have.

Funny, I actually like IHOP wink.gif

I'm all about your quote, above. Life is too short to eat frozen food from a mediocre restaurant. Enjoy your meal, and share something truly good with the people you love.

I do try to be positive in my reviews, but i will also head your advice in the future.

However, Chili's is unfortunately one of those places I just can't give a pass to. There's just nothing good about this place, except perhaps for providing regional employment for our youth. They're overpriced for low quality and bad service. They're the epitome of chains, serving the minimum they can get away with just to keep you from suing the place.

Psst...we can't get married yet in this country. And a bisexual that is married will be in a heterosexual marraige. So really you should only have married heterosexual as an option.

You can say, "so once you're married or civil unioned/domestic partnered..."

Seperate but equal didn't work in the 50's and 60's, will it work today? I cannot say.

If the federal government makes CIVIL marriage equal (every couple wanting to get married has to get their civil marriage license) then I'll be happy. I do not need a religious marriage (if a church doesn't want to recgonize me and my husband (one day) as a couple, fine. But the government should, and it should do so equally with other consenting adult couples).

QUOTE(sat @ Dec 10 2007, 11:01 AM) View Post
I have to chime in with a fairly positive review of the EDH Chili's. A couple of Saturdays ago, my in-laws were in from the Bay Area to watch my kids' last soccer games. We decided to try and have a quick lunch in between the three games. Since we were close by, I called the EDH Chili's to see if they had a long wait, as it was Saturday, around 12:30, and I know they can get pretty busy. The person who answered said she could seat all eight of us, no problem, as long as we came in within 15 minutes. We headed straight there (we were at the soccer field close to Costco literally 10 minutes away). When we arrived, it was busy, and we had to wait for our turn to talk with the hostess. When we did, she informed us that we called over 30 minutes ago, and they gave our table away. I knew it was not 30 minutes, and told her so, but that we also had to wait in line for at least 10 minutes. She told us we would have a 45 minute wait at this point, but that would not work for us, as we had one more soccer game to attend, plus three hungry kids.

I did not make a scene, as I was, first of all, with my in-laws, and did not want to freak them out, but also, the hostess was like 17-years-old, and could not have cared if I was unhappy. I did check my cell phone to see what time I dialed the restaurant, and it had only been at this point 20 minutes. We just walked out and decided to go somewhere else.

The manager then caught up to us, and apologized, and said he would seat us immediately. I am not sure how he was aware of the situation as I said, I did not make a scene, nor my
in-laws. However, he was very gracious, and even gave all the kids free milkshakes.
The service we then received was superior, almost a bit over-the-top, especially for a chain restaurant.

I am not sure how the manager became aware of a potential problem, but he jumped up to the plate and rectified it.

he probably saw some of the interaction and when he saw a crowd of 8 walk out.. he wanted to know why... good for him...

Did this thread even have anything to do with chili's? I can't tell any longer. Damn you people have a difficult time staying on topic. Here is a typical my folsom post.

Header - Ruby Tuesday (or any restaurant), do you like?

Response - I do like it, but those darn homosexuals always seem to want to go out and eat too.

Response - Can we not turn this into a discussion on sexuality, please?

Response - Homosexuality good.

Response - Homosexuality bad.

Response - Ruby Tuesday
Food -1
Service -1
Ambiance +3

Response - Blah Blah Blah, spicy..Blah Blah Blah..

Response - Ruby Tuesday
Food -1
Serivce -1
Ambiance +3
bon apetit

Response - Well, yeah but we never did solve the whole bf/gf/wife/bisexual/hamburger/salad bar thing.

Response - I have a nintendo wii for sale...Any takers....

Geez...This all seems so hard to follow, people..
