Does anyone else see the hypocrisy of telling gay people to keep their "unusual" lifestyle (which btw isn't necessarily a choice they make) private and not boast about it while the same person (dcmss) has a signature that boasts in public about their own "religious" beliefs that are a choice and with an obsessive level that could also be considered quite "unusual"?

A religious book says it so it's okay. Ask any jihadist bomber.

What if you don't believe in God?

Well, if you don't believe in a god, then as far as you are concerned, someday you die, the end. But to those that do believe in a god, they are all convinced, that the non-believers will go to hell and suffer horribly until the end of time.

What I don't get is how do all of the different christian religeons feel. I'm pretty sure the Catholics feel they have it right, so all of the Protestants still don't have it right and are condemned to hell. I'm just not sure how the Baptists, Methodists, Lutherans, Church of God, Church of Christ, etc justify the differences in their christianity teachings.

I know some christians believe god touches their lives everyday and helps get through troubling times, while others believe god allows his children to have free reign over their own lives and that someday he will pass his judgement upon you (i.e.let you into heaven, or tell you to go to hell, literally)

I would rather be Backpacking

Well for me, it's a matter if you rub it in my face out in public that matters, gay or religeous right. I don't like it when religeous peddlers come knocking on my door or when gay people go prancing around in public "saying look at me, look at me".

That's a good observation but I don't think I am being hypocritical. If I had started a thread titled "Q&A for the religious nut" then you would be correct. I have not drawn people into my beliefs by making a flagrant post of my belief. I would hardly say that I have been boasting in public about my beliefs because I don't splatter it all over someone's face.

My sig is very special to me, it was my grandfather's favorite passage from the Bible and became of great comfort to me when he was dying a slow, painful and drawn-out death. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, if the length of the sig is excessive I can pare it back. But please don't come down on me and accuse me of hypocrisyt. Look up the word and see if it still applies to my posts. And don't dare call me a jihadist - my religious attitude is one of peace.
And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes; Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king. Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego. But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king. Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink. Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants. So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days. And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat. Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse. As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.]

Thank you for making my points above in a more succinct manner (and Warren G, you may want to look up the word succinct too)

Then pray tell, what do Catholics believe? Growing up as a Baptist, the Catholic kids in my neighborhood made it clear their version of God was the only right one and all others would go to 7734 (spelled upside down on an HP calculator).

Heck, it only took the Pope 400+ years to admit Galileo was right all along. Believe as the catholics or they will imprison, banish or kill you for heresy.

Bill Z:

It sounds like you have put a little too much credence in what a group of neighborhood kids told you during your childhood. (Most Catholic kids I know don't have all the answers smile.gif)

The Middle Ages in many ways was not a shinning point in the history of the Church, but I can assure you that in the 21st century, the Church does not "imprision, banish or kill you for heresy." The Middle Ages was a LONG time ago.

I do not want ot further derail this thread. If you truly seek answers about the Catholic faith, may I suggest the following web site. It is very informative and accurate.

I'm a poop disturber . Don't wanna let down those that fel that way about me. And since I only start gay topics, gotta have gay in here.
As to consulting my attorney, she knows and has yet to tell me otherwise. There has been no gag order.

OK A very serious question...am I honestly the only one who found unintentionally funny or am I just better at noticing hysterical double entendres?

We all dream of a world of sunshine and rainbows and peace. The problem is some people think this would be a great place to live, while others think it would be a great place to pillage.

I just dont see why someone who claims they dont want all this "negative" attention for being gay would just try to provoke everyone they talk to. I mean are you bored, lonely, sad...ignorant. Why is there a need to refer to yourself as "the gay kid" why dont you sue yourself for slander. u always seem to post on here like u are an expert at everything you come across, ur 19, live life a little bit before you become a stubborn "attention (censored)". Suing the district makes you gain nothing more the demolishing an already weak budget and when you loose ur case all you will have left is even more negative attention. I mean, i feel like ur one of those children that will sit there and poke you till u talk to them or respond at least. u just need to do your own thing and stop beating a dead issue, lifes tough-GET OVER IT! HS is horrible for a lot of people, you cant fix the fact that HS wasnt the best for you by suing for nothing. I hope they do a counter suit, for you waisting everyones time!

Yes, succinct, like your signature on every one of your posts. Another example of your hypocrisy.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The phrase "Pot calling the kettle black" is an idiom, used to accuse another speaker of hypocrisy, in that the speaker disparages the subject in a way that could equally be applied to him or her.

While I believe that being gay is a sin against God and man, I also am grounded enough in reality to know that this kind of thing goes on in the world we live in and that I have to accept that there are some people who don't know how to live right. If being gay is your thing and you are proud of it, that is fine but please keep it to yourself and stop trying to boast proudly of it in public places. We don't need more people like you.

This is one of the sickest and most disturbing comments I have read on this thread, and that's saying alot. What a good Christian you are DCMSS, what a way to emulate Jesus. cuss3.gif cuss2.gif
