Hmmm. I would think that this would encourage the previous poster-- and all forms of laughter should be allowed. smile.gif

Gotta say, Ngilbert is my favorite birdwalker. He's very clever and so competent with the English language. I enjoy reading his posts even when they're off topic.

Name the last ngilbert post you read that was ON topic...

Now look here Tangent-Boy, I am *always* on topic.

It's just not always *the* topic. But it's *a* topic.

I did not say he was on topic, just that I enjoyed the diversion.

OK everyone, I think my point has been made... I appreciate everyone's honesty here and willingness to admit we have a problem here.

I'll consider a MyFolsom chit-chat area if there are enough unique topics that warrant it (I'd make it members only). Let me know what else I can do.

john, as an old parent I know even good kids need a tune up once in a while and your point is well taken and we all do appreciate what you do for the old forum.

I find rude people for the most part are rookies who calm down and do better once they figure out how things wolk

Unfortunately John, you are the parent and everyone else is acting like the kids. You put down the law, and now everyone snipes at you from behind the trees. Good job on stepping up and speaking out. Mike.

Really? There are several regular members here who are consistently rude to others and seem to enjoy being so.

Seems like everything posted by people with less than 1,000 posts gets automatically deleted if it offends the delicate sensibilities of the mods and admins.

No, only for our special members that find some strange amusement creating multiple ID's and harassing what could be a perfectly good forum.

I got the email listed below this evening from some person I don't know from Adam. He sent it to me I gues because he feels he is being censored and since in a couple threads I have wailed against censorship he felt it might get aired. Take it for what it's worth, but I happen to agree that there is an uneven amount of censorship on this site. I know this site is owned by one person and he has the ultimate control over content. If this was evenly applied I think it would be marginally ok in this manner. But since the application seems a bit off kilter, this needs to be aired out.

Censorship Struggle ( From: BanHammerSurvivor )

Hi, JP Pugster.

I am writing to you because I have seen some of your posts supporting freedom of speech, and can tell you're opposed to censorship. I just wanted to let you know what this forum has done to me, and maybe you can relay the message to the forum better than I. Every post I make gets deleted.

I have been asked several times to change my avatar, and I have complied with the requests each time. I was using a members' picture in my avatar, and it was apparently unappreciated, so I changed my avatar to remove this picture after threats of being suspended from the forum. Unfortunately I was suspended anyway.

I created this new account to drum up support, and my first post was deleted within seconds. I did, however, manage to get a screen shot of the post before it was removed, just to prove that they are covering this whole thing up.

Now, I know I don't know you, and I'm sorry to intrude, but if you've read this far maybe you're in agreement with me on the shoddy way I am being treated. Please help me if you can!

If you are not happy with the way this forum is run, go somewhere else. I'm getting tired of all this pissing and moaning. If people weren't trying to stir up s---, just to stir it up, there wouldn't be problems.

There is another censorship-free site in Folsom. Maybe go there....but then you wouldn't be able to make waves, so it might not be as fun. wink.gif
