We went this morning, and it was great! The waffles were really good. John got plain and I got cherry. Very tasty. The kids got pancakes and french toast. My daughter loved the pancakes, but I didn't care for them. The french toast was good. I think my only criticism wsa on the biscuits. They were too dry.

The service was excellent. They were constantly offering to fill up John's coffee. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The food came out REALLY fast, too.

We'll definitely be back!

We went for lunch today, and it was packed. The place was stuffed to the brim with hard-of-hearing senior citizens. That made it very loud and irritating, to hear every conversation going on from across the room. I guess old people like waffles.

We, however, do not like waffles, so we had lunch food. I had a hamburger, and MrTuffPaws had Chicken Fried Steak.

My hamburger (just a basic one) was about 4.5 - 5 inches tall, which made it hard to eat. The steak fries had a season salt on them, and were even still slightly warm when they got to our table. My food was tasty enough (for diner food), but per usual for us, the large portions were a bit of a turn-off.

According to MrTuffPaws, he was "Wholly unimpressed," because the food was "Craptastic." Too be fair, I think he says this about every American Diner we've ever been too. In this case, hubby said the chicken fried steak was "paper thin, and tasted like sawdust. It crumbled in my mouth." The gravy was "mediocre to begin with, and I certainly didn't need a gallon of it. If I wanted gravy on my eggs, I would have ordered gravy and eggs." The generous amount of gravy covered his steak, half his eggs, and half his hash browns. Also, "they sure do believe in butter" because his toast was soggy, and dripping with the amount of butter pre-applied to it.

I guess when a place is named Waffle Barn, you ought to stick with the waffles.

Oh, and they have a website too, so you can see their menu and other locations. www.wafflebarnonline.com

My son (4) and I went there Sunday morning around 9am... The place was full but we were able to be seated right away...

Service was very good, attentive, got the orders right, etc... No complaints.

The food was mediocre. I was surprised on the kids menu they don't have waffles! When I asked they said the regular waffle portions are fairly small so they don't have a kids item menu for waffles (but they do have pancakes and frecnh toast on it)...

So my son ordered the strawberry waffles. He enjoyed them but obviously didn't finsh them. The straberries were sweetened making them fairly wet so the waffles got soggy fairly quickly and obviously we couldn't take them home. Oh well, he still enjoyed them but I think he would have eaten more of the cinnamon waffles I make at home... :-)

I order combo #3 - Plain Waffle with eggs, choice of country pots or hash browns and choice of bacon, sausage or ham... I went with country pots and ham. It's a generous helping of ham and it tasted good. I was disappointed in the country pots though. I expect onions/peppers in them and more flavor. Definitely lacking that. I think I saw a couple of shreds of onion and maybe a slice of pepper, but there was barely any in it and it wasn't enough to add flavor... The waffle was tasty enough. It was light and airy Nothing really to complain about but I wouldn't rave over them either.

Will we be going back? I wouldn't be opposed to it, but I'm not revving to go again either.

Coach Weise.

I was there around the same time Sunday, we were seated at one of the booths. My wife and I both went with the omlette dish & I agree, the country potatos were pretty bad, I prefer them with red potatos. My wife had hash browns instead, they were predictable but good. The omlettes were really good. The coffee was tasty. Service was good and fast despite the large crowd. I will be returning.

What are their hours?

Are they open for breakfast in the evening?

I met up with two coworkers and we tried the Barn for the first time during lunch. Two of us had the Ham\Cheese\Egg Skillet and the other person had a cheeseburger\fries. Service was very prompt and we seemed to have arrived just after the lunch rush which made the service even faster. Food was pretty good and certainly in large portions because we both took our skillets home as leftovers. I nuked mine for breakfast the next morning and surprisingly the potatoes reheated well suggesting they werent greasy like most diners.

The food and menu reminded me of the Waffle Shop in Placerville but with attentive, cheerful, hard working staff. I will add the WB to my list of breakfast\lunch spots (MGMC, Ernies, Mimi's, Sutter St Grill, Balcony Bistro).

Went there today around lunchtime for breakfast. The service was great but the food was mediocre. A step above IHOP, not nearly as good as Gold Miner. In fact this would be the place to go when GM has a long line.

I ordered the linguica scramble. The cheese was barely melted and the linguica had little flavor. I added a ton of pepper. My husband's Belgium waffle tasted bisquick-like and boring. I liked the hash browns though.

Might try it again.

She said she might try it again, not that she would not. How many chances do you give a place before you determine it sucks?

I figure it'll be awhile before they come back. The Waffle Barn waffles are awesome.
