See, and to me, it sounded like Bob was lying through his teeth the whole time he was talking about how he got the materials.... especially when Jeff just so conveniently saved the idol from the fire? Yeah, no. I've been a big fan of this show since the first one in 2000. I've never missed an episode, and believe that it is as real as it can be. But I'm no longer naive enough to believe that there are no scripted or manufactured parts. I believe Bob's idol and Jeff's "saving" it from the fire were all as fake as Ace's accent (didn't buy his story, either).
If you have ever read anything about the tribal councils, then you know that we see only a small bit of them. They go on for hours. So, that idol would have been in the fire far too long to look that good.
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

Hehehe "Several seasons" = Season two. That was Colby.
I think they are still allowed one, but they are much more strict on the rules. I think that's why they don't play them up as much. They haven't mentioned a luxury item since season 3 or 4, I think.

you forget, yes the talking goes on for a long time, but the votes are already cast when it's time to play any hidden immunity idol, so it gets tossed in the fire, they read the votes, Randy is gone, and the crew is telling Jeff to rescue Bob's Idol.

I can't stand Corinne. Sugar did cry a bit to much but Corinne is the fakes person I've seen on Survivor. She's just trying to get attention and I don't think there is ever an excuse to go after a dead loved one like she did whether you think sugar is lying or not. Thats not being a #@$% but its being a bad human being searching for fame on survivor. Trying to out-do those witch girls from an earlier season (which drove me nuts as they did that witches brew thing!).
I wanted Sugar or Bob to win so I'm glad that Bob one. I'm also really happy about the final 4 with the exception of Suzie. She drives me nuts and has done nothing to deserve to be in that 2nd spot.
To be honest I don't even think sugar cared about winning. I'm sure she would like to have a million bucks but really... I think she wanted the best hearted players to win. I'm still lost on why they act like she is such a worthless uneducated bum when she does have a decent amount of movies/shows she has been in. Why do they only call her a pin-up girl instead of an actress too? They never discussed that at all???
The dudes accent... I don't believe is real!
Whats his name... needs to stop crying! Isn't it the girl thats supposed to cry when getting proposed too if there were to be tears? I almost cried in pain watching that scene!
Kenny, why is he playing soooo dumb about bob and not handing over the hidden immunity. He was caught red handed! But yet he kept acting like bob should have given him the idol regardless. Hows that workout?

My guess is some people lost enough weight that they ended up with some health issues, so they aren't allowing them to starve as much as they used to.

It also created a huge advantage for anyone who could catch or find food. For the first few years if you were the guy who could use a sling spear and catch fish, you were going to get to the end. Nobody might like you, but you were a source of food.
Still undecided if that change made this more or less appealing as a true measure of survival.
Havent watched the show for a couple of years. I found that among the people there werent any that I really liked or hated. With nobody to root for or against, it got a little boring. The challenges are also pretty much the same recycled dozen or so tests.

It's a working formula, until there ratings drop off, I wouldn't expect a whole lot of changes, but they have added things over the seasons. There never used to be an exile island, individual hidden immunities, it used to be only 2 in the end, now it's 3. This season they mixed it up a little more with changing up the tribes the way they did.
I still think it is the best of all the different "reality" shows on the air.
