Try Cricket's Country Kitchen in Sac on Auburn blvd. BY FAR the BEST breakfast around. I have not found anything even close in Folsom.

We have 2 in town so someone must like them. I've never been to IHOP, but I have been to some of the good ol' mom and pop places you listed and I don't really think they're that great. Just my opinion.

Yes, lots of people like them, but that doesn't make them good.

People also seem to like McDonalds, Pizza Hut, BJ's and countless other chains.

It's not because they are the best restaurants on earth, but because they know the menu.

They know what to expect.

People also seem to like Paris Hilton, Lil' Wayne, and Jessica Simpson.

I concur but just because you and I might not care for it or think it's good, doesn't mean that others feel the same way.

Maybe, but unless I am headed somwhere further away, there is no way I'm driving out of town for breakfast.

I'll cook breakfast before I spend 1/2 hour driving to get to it.
I would rather be Backpacking

Their old country breakfast burrito was worse...had about 920 calories with half of that from fat.

But it was 2/3 of a pound and if you ate one at 8 in the morning and then worked hard all day, you still werent hungry at 6:00 that evening.

We still havent tried Ernies. So far on our go-round of breakfast joints, we liked Early Toast the best but it was the most expensive. Gold Miner gave us a few good breakfasts, then we went to the Purple place and liked it but it seemed a little spendy and not as good as the Gold Miner, but then our next two trips to the Gold Miner werent that great. We've always had very good luck at Mels with their breakfast specials and kids breakfasts...at a minimum you cant beat the price since its about half the cost of eating at any of the other mentioned restaurants.

I havent eaten in an IHOP in quite a while. My dad had some sort of fixation on them a couple of years ago and wanted to eat there all the time. After we both got ill several times in a row, that was the end of that.

So tell me more about this Jessica Simpson breakfast. I think I'd like to take a shot at it, although it sounds like a lot more than 900 calories. Paris Hilton is too skinny. L'il Wayne is a complete non-starter.

FWIW, since the time I mentioned O'Brot in another breakfast thread, they're drastically scaled back their hours. sad.gif

Why on earth would anyone be shocked to get poor service at an IHOP?

It's a place to get consistently quck, cheap, greasy breakfast.

CHEAP?? We went there last month and it cost almost $10 per person for breakfast. I am talking some pancakes, omletes, etc. What a waste os $$ and horrible service.
