Not at all. My dad is Italian and he likes using canned tomatoes. He makes a great sauce. Sometimes I'll use a bottled sauce just to save time but never in front of him. He'd be so disappointed in me.

yeah, but I only like classico! I hate the sweet sugary prego!

classico is also the lowest in sodium content that I've found.

Just wanted to point out to our newcomer, that this isn't a review of Italian Restaurants, its Naga's review of Italian Restaurants, which should always be taken with a grain of salt.

Theres also a Strings over in the Town Center in EDH.

Its pretty much Visconti's unless you want to leave town. The old Lanza's was pretty decent. Granitos is good but like Il Fornaio you're going to pay $20+ a person for spaghetti.

The Old Spaghetti Factory is hideously expensive and mediocre, but decent if you have a bunch of kids, and the toy store right next to it can be beneficial in occupying them for a while.

Mamma Anna's (in Folsom and EDH, although with different owners) has excellent salads and sandwiches, and some take and bake pizzas, lasagnas and the like.

Most italian food is just way too easy to make at home.

Welcome to Folsom. In case you didn't know you have entered the Land of the Foodies, where the bad press from an uneven opening day can sink what might become a good place to the bottom of the Marianis within a month, but where a previously popular place can coast along on its rep for years. Also everyone expects veal parmigiana better than Olive Garden for $6 a plate.

So true! Macaroni Grill has a couple of decent dishes and that is it. I can't believe that Olive Garden is even considered Italian. Visconti's was a real disappointment the last time we went.

You are only proving my point... for 95% of the country Fazoli's is adequate and Olive Garden is where you go on dates...
