Mexquite (Natoma Street and Bidwell in the Raley's Center) rates among the best.

I went yesterday for lunch and to wish the owners well. I will miss this restaurant and the awesome customer service.

It's not in Folsom, it's on Folsom Blvd. near Sac State, but I had some awesome tacos at the El Patron Bar & Grill last night. The meat was "al pastor" and with the spicy salsa they served them with, they were absolutely wonderful. The sauce was much hotter than the salsa that was served with the chips.
I would rather be Backpacking

We like the tacos al pastor at Taco Loco a lot.

Went to one of the restaurants recommended in this thread on Friday night, and we will never go back. We had really great service but the food was so bleh. We were both sad that we had wasted a meal out there. It always amazes me how subjective a thing taste is.

I happen to really like Rodrigos on Madison near the Long's and 99 Cent Store. I haven't been disappointed and it's pretty authentic, though you have to order from the counter...

BTW, I think most truly authentic restaurants are going to be that way.... smile.gif

We've been there twice. Bad both times. We only went back the second time because we thought maybe we had just been there on a bad night based on what we saw on this board. Slow service and less than mediocre food was our experience. I would MUCH prefer to go to La Fiesta....or pretty much any other Mexican food place in town.

Home made burritos for lunch today.

Refried beans from a can
some left over pulled pork from Texas West BBQ
some homemade salsa
pre-grated mexican cheese mix from costco
and some additional hot sauce cuz the MIL's salsa isn't very hot

all wrapped up in two flour tortillas, waiting until it's time to microwave.

Where is the best Mexican Food in Folsom? We are not familiar yet with the area.
Thanks

Hi. I strongly reccomend Hacienda. Try to get service by a waitress named Laurie, haha i reccomend her too. It's very fun at that resturant; they always have activities going on and always trying to make sure you are pleased, also sitting on the deck can be very rrelaxing except for at night time when the mosquitos come out!
