I am much more enthusiastic about this place now that I have been, and I suspect CW will appeciate that they have a selection of boot style drinking apparatus (2L).

Aah, nothing like footwear to wash down a nice warm brew.

Hey guys and Cindi...it was nice to meet all of you and put faces on your handles here.
I think all of us had the same thing..the cheeseburger with saurkraut. Mine was delicious but I saved half for later.

Oh, and a gentleman bought me my wine as a birthday treat. Wasn't that nice?!

I saw the giant beer stein boot. I'm sure it holds the beer better than my lace boots...lol

Fun lunch people. Let me know when I can join you again!

I care about pickles, but I actually prefer slices on the burger over spears to eat seperately.

They have what you want smile.gif

It was a great Friday lunch - met people we 'see" all the time here on the forums but aside from DavBurr and Carnivore, haven't met face to face. Good conversations about living in in the hills, classic cars, beer and computers. Good times.

Before my review, just recalled that no one snapped a picture yet we all had camera enabled smartphones -- oh well.

This burger was really good and very unique to others the burger bunch (can't call it burger boys now that two ladies joined us smile.gif) has tasted. German cheeseburger comes with Swiss cheese (there you go Bill Z), thick beef\pork burger patty, some good seasoning and mine had two slices of bacon because everything tastes better with bacon. Sliced pickles, red onion, lettuce, tomato garnished on the side. Other than asking for the next one to have less mayo, it didnt need ketchup, mustard or anything else to make it better.

Fries were crisp on the outside and tender inside

Iced Tea is presweetened and has a unique flavor that I couldnt nail down but also very good as I went through 4-5 glasses.

Service was prompt both at the bar where Allen served us and waitresses were taking care of the tables.

carnivore also tipped us off on their clam chowder with french onion soup. Today it was a lunch special for $5. We had a small sample and paired with a nice bread and beer, would be a great lunch. Its a red clam chowder but not a Manhatten style, consistency is more like Boston clam chowder with a mix of fried onion and ....too hard to describe -- just order it.

My wife (Cindy) and I will be back for lunch or dinner soon. The Swedish meatballs, goulash or schnitzel sound very good. I rate this a "I will be back" which MSgt agreed.

Naga - you were spot on with your opinion of this place.

Hey boys and girls, I had a very good time today! The sun was shining, the beer was good, the burger was great and seeing and meeting some of you for the first time topped it all off!! When I got home I had to tell me bride (leenda) what a great time we had. I am very hopeful that Thomas,John,Lenka,Ila,Allen do have a good run at this venture. And I encourage those that visit to try the famous French Clam Soup... it's great! What a good day it was.... I thank all of you....
P.S. What's Next ?

another P.S.Lornaknits there are no formal invitations here, hell if it sounds like something you want to participate in... well then join up and meet... hehe we are a pretty informal bunch of blokes you see..

another P.S. Well now I am pissed, Evader gets two strips of bacon on HIS ! burger but the rest of us eat....... uuuummm standard burgers! this is outrageous... hehe

[Bostonchowdersnob]

If its not white and made primarily of milk or cream, its soup, not chowder!

Manhattan clam "chowder" is tomato soup with some clams thrown in!

GRRRRRRR!

It may be an excellent soup, but it aint chowda!!!
