It's up to the whim of the moderators. I try to make sure I don't post things I think will be deleted.
I beleive all the mods try to be fair. What sometimes may look like a whim in moderating, may be rather an oversight or a chance catch of an inappropriate post. There is a significant volume of posts we need to read each day.
Mods are not paid. We all have other jobs and responsibilities, but give our time to John and the community to help keep this MyFolsom running. We are happy to give our time to this thankless endeavor!

Thank you, Mylo, for your desire to clean-up the forum. The negativity at times is highly discouraging. I know that you will receive backlash for your editing, but many will appreciate it.

In the past, if you haven't broken a forum rule I personally let it slide. Now, if you post something that's not beneficial to the site or the community, please expect it to be edited or deleted entirely. You can also expect a PM from me explaining why I did so.
If you have a problem/complaint with me, please take it up with John or STD.
If you have been lurking, afraid to post because of fear of the stupid backlash, please take this opportunity to make yourself heard.
Please note that I do not read every post and will not catch everything, but I hope to at least make a little impact before I get booted

hey does this also mean a reduction in the snarky one liner attempts at humor that usually don't add to the discussions?

heheh just had to razz you on that one buddy, please don't delete me

This kind of stuff happens in all 'net forums. You think it gets bad around here, you should read some of the stuff posted on trumpet player forums. We get posters who bash everybody, get personal, crazy and then when they get banned, they appear again under a different name a week later. They try to fit in at first, but after awhile they can't help themselves and self-destruct again.
It's nice to be nice.

Great forum, thanks for helping to make it readable. Give yourself a raise.
A trumpet player forum? Are you kidding me?

I'll take the high road and not name them. Some of you find it so easy to be rude or cruel because you're anonymous here.
Maybe I'll start posting again if it's a kinder, gentler forum now. lol

OK, I've been Mylo'd twice now, and this most recent one seems like humor against politicians in general is no longer acceptable. I'm not sure I like the "new" PC.

It's funny that this topic came up and seems so heated because it's exactly why I left this site for the past year. Acknowledgement is the first step...

I personally have been edited because of two very vocal (lets say) people, who no matter what they say, they get away with their more than rude comments. I do not know who they have an in with, but it must be nice.
I like this forum, I just think that the two who are always on here are very rude and unhappy people with nothing better to do.
My opinion. I love this forum except for them and I am sure others agree.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. I thought only modertaors could edit or delete others' posts. If this is true then are you expressing your concerns about some moderators?
I look at the forum this way, no one on here is perfect, all of us have some biases and people will disagree on just about any subject that is posted about. I think its best to try and treat people by the golden rule and it makes every thing nicer. The only thing each and everyone of us can control is what we write.
I sense a growing double standard on here, but that is no different than what happens in society all the time today anyway. I just try and do my best to deal with it and point it out as it arises.

It is not very respectful to come on this thread and talk S*** about people. I think it is very rude, and kind of kills the whole point of this thread....
but I guess I expect that coming from you two though.
