Bill, was that really necessary? It's obvious he's a disgruntled ex-employee, he said that he worked there and sure sounds disgruntled about it! Voicing your pleasure over him not being there is simply unnecessary. If you're happy about the service you're getting, without loosinggrip56's employment, just enjoy it! No need to rub it in...

What?! I'm not allowed to be happy that a bad attitude is not caring for my son.

Fine then, I agree with Palango.

That is your opinion. I can attest that we have had OUTSTANDING service at Phoenix (near intel). Speaking with many other parents, I can tell you that they are very happy with them. If Phoenix is as bad as you claim , then why is it sold out and there is a waiting list?

Wow, that doesn't happen everyday. ( that I agree with Palango)

That's not what I was trying to say. I was replying to Supermom's statement that in home daycare workers are better trained than the one's at daycare facilities, I don't think just because someone is a mom, makes them better trained.

I didn't say that just because someone someone is a mom that makes them better trained.

You pretzeled one of my statements again.

i'll reword it, though.

Private, in home daycare providers tend to put more emphasis in making sure that their training, knowledge, accomodations and hours are as realistically competeitive with a day care or preschool as to give prospective parents the "fuzzy feeling" that their children are not cookie cuttings and are receiving a much more invidualized pre-K introduction to socialization, education --while in a family environment.

Whew---happy now?

In researching daycare options, I almost fell out of my chair over these prices:

for a 1 year old and 3 year old full time @ Phoenix = almost 2K a month????

wow!!! Will the Free pre School for ALL bill ever pass??? Right now, you have to be super low income to qualify for headstart or anything close to that.

When both parents work, it is very very difficult to juggle this. nevermind the emotional tolls on the child and the guilt that you feel as a parent.

Try a home daycare......there are some really good ones in Folsom that offer preschool programs for your older child...

Hmm, me thinks you are a disgruntled employee. I might guess that I should be pleased you no longer work there.

I know people on this forum just try and get under peoples skin, but good thing is, I am thicked skinned! Also, I quit, I have no reason to be upset, I worked there for a year and it was the worse jobbed I ever worked. It was great being with the kids, but we were not aloud to let the children pretend they were superheores or animals. I hated "positviely redirecting kids" because they had an imagination.....It will be interesting to see how kids like that turn out

....and 90% of those parents at that school had no idea about anything at the school, because all they ever cared about was their careers. Which was very apparent because of how some parents would dropped there kids off at 6:30 in the morning (there opening time) and be the last to pick up there kids when they closed. I have never met more parents in my life that cared so little about their children.

once again..... I never said the level of education was terrible or it was a bad place. What I said was bad was the fact they are taking away the childrens imagination. Not like parents would have a clue, because there seemed to be zero parent involement!

I've never met someone in the child education business with such poor spelling, let alone your grammar.

that is not a fair statement... pretty judgmental... Not every one who has their kid there all day does it just to get rid of them.

Some parents, whether a single mom or dad or just ones doing the very best they can to work enough to make ends meet. Are they really that bad of parents to DO ANYTHING it takes to make things work?

I have a friend that has her kid in daycare a lot. No family around, and she HAS to work... she is NOT on welfare. Does that make her a bad mom? She loves her kid. But I guess she makes you sick???? rolleyes.gif

Not every one can be you. Seeing people be that judgmental makes me sick.

Excellent points.

I know there are days I've had to make use of their long operating hours, that's one of my reasons for having my son at Phoenix. Guess what?, my son enjoys it when he gets to stay late and play with his friends. If my son hated it, I would look for another school.

Im sorry you feel im judgemental. But having a child in daycare for 12 hours make ME feel sick. I dont know your friend and im sure she is a great mom (if you read my earlier post I agree there are circumstances that call for daycare) BUT it still makes me feel sick and sad for the child. You dont agree? Would you be ok with a daycare wathing your kid from 6:30 am-6:30 pm? Honest now

I guess you really abhor "boarding schools", not that I would want my child to go to one, but they used to be more common than they are now I believe.

Just because *I* would not have my kid in daycare all day, does not make it wrong if someone else has to.
Most people do the best they can.

I sign my kid up for the Summer Camp at Brighton (which is a form of daycare, since it is not really school at that time) every year... even though I am home most of the day. He goes early in the AM and then I pick him up around 4pm M-F. And I pay almost $200 per week for him to go.

He LOVES it. And it is good for him to not hang out with just his mom all day every day. He sees kids, goes on RAD field trips (yes, I said RAD) and gets to PLAY all day.

Is THAT sickening to you too?

Thank you Andrea V I think we are on the same page. I also would not have my kid in daycare all day, and dont think its WRONG for people to do but it saddens/sickens me that a child would be left with a stranger for 12 hours...

I fully support that statement. I've thought he was james for quite awhile what with the harassing PM's and other things.
