what were you doing in my hometown Tampa?  was your dad in the military or something?

I know we've talked about this before... my brother went to Chamberlain just like you. Anyway, my dad worked for Wang Computers (huh huh, I said "Wang") back then and he was transferred to the SF office. Anyway, Tampa was cool. I was 10.

What's the weirdest pizza and/or topping you've ever seen/had?

View Post

I'd have to say when I saw a pizza that had a raw egg cracked on top. Yes this was in italy. I guess they server it really hot and crack an egg on top.

Anyone ever have crispy bacon on top of their pizza?

I can now say that the best pizza I've ever had in Folsom is Mama Nardi's New York Pizzeria. smile.gif

I can't wait to try Mama Nardi's. Why is it the best, though? I need details and recommendations. What did you try?

Well, best is a relative term. If you were raised on California pizza, then you may not like it, but for us, coming from the east coast, this is as close as we've been able to find to the taste of NY pizza. Texture of the pizza, taste, etc.

And they sell pizza by the slice! Unlike CA pizza places which force you to buy the pie if you want some pizza. So you can try it without having to buy the whole pie. smile.gif

I had Chicago Fire deep dish for the first time over the weekend, it was really good. The cookie dessert was excellent too.

I'll have to try Mama Nardi's next.

What is a pop in the east, and a soda in west, is called a 'cold drink', in the south, as in "y'all want a coldrank?"

View Post

My wife and I grew up in the Bay Area where we called all sodas "a Coke".

As in: "Do you wanna Coke?"
"Sure!"
"What kind?"

Luigi's on Stockton Blvd. is some of the BEST pizza I have ever had (and I too grew up on the East Coast and tried pizza in Italy). Luigi's is amazing! It's open until 2:00 a.m. on the weekends, but is not in the greatest of neighborhoods. It's worth trying anyway.

Too far! My driving is limited to Folsom. smile.gif

All sodas as Coke? Wouldn't that confuse the waitress? smile.gif

Pop and Soda are the ones I hear most when I travel.

BTW folks if you're going to Mama Nardi's for lunch, skip the lunch 'special' (2 slices and a soda) - it's the same price. More interesting to try one with toppings instead.

So have you checked it out yet Bish?

How are those video game consoles coming along? That's one thing I remember about NY pizzerias, they always seemed to have pac-man, asteroid or some other video arcade game.
