I heard about him...what was his name?

His name might as well be Voldemort as far as the city is concerned, "He, who shall not be named," but it was Reggie Drew.

Also, since the guy rented in Folsom, I think that qualifies him as a Folsom resident and not an outsider no matter where he lived before.

I know I'd not like this sort of person living next door to me. My neighbor, who is a prison guard at Folsom says there are probably more than one renter in Folsom that is a drug dealer. That worries me, but I'm glad none are looking like they are on my block.
I know my neighbors.

I'd feel even worse if they owned the place! At least you can evict renters. By the way, one of my daughter's former classmates, a life long Folsom resident, just got busted for selling drugs. Another, who lives near me, just had one of his junkie friends OD and die at his house.

I kid you not, I can name, actually name, 5 Folsom kids who are in rehab for heroin addiction. Nice, Folsom, middle class kids, addicted to heroin.

Thanks for that info on the Folsom Mayor.....sad he had to blow such a good job.

A resident is described in the dictionary as one who lives in a place....but there is no evidence that he actually lived in the house he rented. He could have used the house for storage and to make his drugs. But there has been no report of him actually living in the house, though he may have. Or, he may have lived in a few houses around Sacramento. I hope they report more on this in the news.

We can assume he lived there, but that would not be factual. The people who have been caught growing marijuana in the homes they rented did not live in them. One wonders why. We can only guess they didn't want to be found at the scene of the crime. Better to do the dirty deed and go some place else, so as not to be caught....I would think.

The fact is this man came here and rented a home, as well as brought his criminal activities with him. He reflects badly on our community and gives our community nothing but an added crime statistic. I wish he had stayed where he lived before, and I'm sure his neighbors on Swinton Way agree with me.

My personal description of a resident is someone who works, shops and lives in a community while adding positive values and the pursuit of safe community living. Stevethedad is such a person and you probably are too. And I think I am.

Most residents move more than they did twenty years ago and that makes for neighborhoods to become broken and undesirable. Long term residents become involved with the community and are law abiding...wanting their kids to grow up in a safe and wholesome environment. They are there true residents of Folsom to me.

If this man is anything, he is a criminal without regard for the laws or the community. To me he is just a renter, seeking to take what he can from the residents here, just as a pick pocket goes where there are many pockets to pick...without regard to the damage he inflicts. If anything he came here to hide.

The term "resident" is too good for him.

Yeah, but those kind of Folsomites get to move up to different digs in "New Folsom." Hope he looks good in blue.

I believe you about the Folsom kids. It is so sad.

I wondered how many would catch that pun.....you are very sharp!

How did that jerk become mayor? It's hard to understand!

He was here and gone, before we moved to Folsom.

After going back and reading the NewsBlaze more carefully, it stated that Kevin Lamar Nash was from Sacramento.....and since the Probation Department was involved, he's probably an ex-con.

It reads.....

"After serving simultaneous search warrants in Folsom, at a home on 38th Avenue in Sacramento, and on a suspect whose vehicle was stopped on Power Inn Road, investigators from the Sacramento Sheriff's narcotics, Sacramento and Folsom police departments, the DEA, and Sacramento County Probation say they located 20 ounces of Rock Cocaine."

"The lead investigator said the Folsom home was being used by Kevin Lamar Nash, 35, of Sacramento, to covert Cocaine Hydrochloride (powder cocaine) into more valuable Rock Cocaine."

http://newsblaze.com...b/topstory.html

This news article says Kevin Nash "used" the house in Folsom for the making of rock cocaine and that he was a resident of Sacramento.....leading one to believe he didn't live in Folsom.....

"The discovery of a half-pound of rock cocaine at a Folsom home with a street value of $56,000 landed a Sacramento man in jail.
Kevin Lamar Nash, 35, was booked into the Sacramento County Jail Wednesday on charges of possession rock cocaine for sale, transportation of a controlled substance and manufacturing rock cocaine after the Folsom Police SWAT team searched a home in the 1800 block of Swinton Drive in Folsom."

"Nash was reportedly using the home to convert powder cocaine into the more valuable rock cocaine, officials said."

“We located 20 ounces of rock cocaine,” said Jason Browning, spokesman for the Folsom Police Department. “Two more ounces were found in (Nash’s) possession at the time of his arrest.”

"Nash is being held on $300,000 bail. An enhancement was added requiring that he prove the source of his bail funds, officials said."

Although some posters have said he was a resident of Folsom, it is not stated on any official police report. Just because a person rents a house, doesn't mean they intend to live there...which would make them a resident.

This man WAS an "Outsider" who rented a house here in order to make his rock cocaine...thinking that he would not be caught by the probation officer who would go to his house of residence in Sacramento, to make checks on him.

Reggie Drew worked (and I believe eventually retired after being transferred from the Folsom area) as an upper level manager for the Prison Industry Authority. I think one of his main assets was his wife Valerie (since divorced and she has moved out of state). She was very active in the community and a wonderful lady – I believe she would have made a great Council Member and Mayor!

You have no neighbors who work for Intel? I didn't think that was possible.
