I guess I'd like a candidate who is more interested in making sure current residents have an adequate water supply rather than helping developers make money.

That would eliminate any incumbant, since they all voted for this deal. Ernie wasn't on the council at this time.

Its refershing and ressurring to see people actually using logic based upon voting records of candidates to make informed decisions about what is in the best interests of the citizens of Folsom instead of some twisted rationalization to justify their supports.

Sadly, you are in the minority around here!

The city council needs a shake up and a wake up call and maybe Mike K is the one to do it. We won't be able to replace all 3 candidates this time around but we need to start somewhere and why not try to unseat the one who's been there longest, Mr. Miklos.

Unfortunately, you cannot select which one is unseated. It wouldn't help to unseat Kerri. She needs to continue to be a voice of reason for the city.

And Democrats in particular have a history of facilitating this obstructionism in exchange for campaign donations and votes." . . .Amanda Ripley re "Waiting for Superman" movie.

I agree. The count per prior elections appears to make her the most vulnerable. I don't get it. She is meticulous, a hard worker, always ready to talk to any resident and is not afraid to take a stance that she believes is good for Folsomites even if it makes her unpopular with fellow-council members. Perhaps she's not "smooth enough" to everyone's liking. (A bit of sexism in there? She doesn't act the way some would like a lady to act?) I don't agree with all she does, but better keep her than the others. I agree that Andy is a nice guy, but that's probaby why he goes along because he doesn't like to make waves. Steve appears to be the leader of the pack; if anyone deserves accolades or blame for the state of affairs, it is Steve. If you think the cc has been doing a good job, by all means, he's your man. If not, then he's the obvious one to oust. I haven't sorted through the new candidates yet, but would like to see some fresh blood. When will the city website list the people who have pulled papers?

Very good. I agree with you.

I think that my wife and I are going to vote for only 1 of the 3 and that way there won't be two other votes out there. If you want to get one person in then get a lot of people to just vote for the one person and not two others. Get enough people to do this and you have a winner.

Kerri I will always vote for because she doesn't give a rip what others think - plus she tends to make decisions with Folsom's best interest in heart.

John: Before making broad statements such as this about political candidates, I would strongly encourage you to first consider their voting record.

- Opposed the Sports Complex

- Opposed the Aquatics Center

- Opposed strengthening the city's adult business ordinance to stop an adult business from moving into the Historic District

- Supported the tatoo palor on Natoma Street

- Supported expansion of the card room

- Supported Reggie Drew for Mayor (just weeks before he was arrested for possession of illegal drugs and solicitation of a prostitute)

- And many other disturbing actions

Judge a person by their actions, and not their words. And, don't confuse someone's lack of discretion and consideration of others by openly criticizing them in public meetings as somehow representing good character.

As far as I'm concerned, they should all go. Overall, none of the three up for re-election have acted in the best interests of our community. But, the worse by far is the one you praise the most.

I encourage you and others who follow this forum and blindly support her to examine her voting record. It is a direction reflection of her character, and her character is not good at all. We need to hold our elected representatives to a high standard. So what if she speaks her mind and occasionally goes against the grain by voting against the other council members on mostly minor, unimportant issues. What's most important is that she makes the right decisions on the important issues. And, she has by far the worst track record of all of them in this regard.

If you don't believe me, ask the people in city hall. But, good luck finding one who is willing to freely speak their mind without fear of retaliation, especially when the topic involves her.
