Ducky,

You are too funny - Legal Sea Food in Folsom??? If I thought it was possible, I would have already called. You can order from them on line and have it shipped. If you are so inclined, there are a number of companies in Maine and Massachusetts that will ship lobster, steamers, mussels, cod, corn, potatoes and odd other things. They ship in a single container, or multiple, depending upon the number of people you are planning to feed. The container is a big aluminum can. You add fluid (water, beer or wine), put it on a charcoal weber grill, and in 30 minutes, put on your bib and eat. It is typically about $50.00 per person - and very good, especially if you can predict that you are in the mood for lobster and steamers at least 2 days in advance. Your other option, for lobster anyway, is to get them at Savemart, and cook them yourself at home. I am required to do lobster rolls whenever the Patriots play in the super bowl - which also requires shipping of the correct hot dog rolls (from New England). $6.00 worth of hot doge rolls costs $27.00 to ship - and Fed Ex in Massachusetts thinks people who ship hot dog rolls are crazy.

Another option is the Woodhouse Grill in SF. It is a hole in the wall that ships in eastern clams, lobster and a few other things. They hired a local bakery to make the hot dog rolls for them - but if you want east coast fried clams - this is the place to get them. Prices are very reasonable - you can see the menu on their website.

What shall I make for dinner????????????????/

Come on, Kerri. If anyone can figure out a way to make it possible for Legal to come here it would be you. :)Wouldn't it be great for Folsom to scoop Roseville on a restaurant for a change?

In the meantime, thanks for all the suggestions. I'll have to check out the Woodhouse Grill next time I'm in SF.

Bubba Gumps!
What I really crave is a really good Cajun restaurant. Nothing better than Crayfish Etouffe, Jambalaya, Red Beans & Rice, Hush Puppies, Oysters like they have at the ACME Oyster Co or Felix (if they'r still there in New Orleans). mmm mmm good!!

Dave & Busters and El! Pollo! Loco!

Davburr, I heard something called "Catch the Wave" is coming to Palladio (googled it, all I got was a surf shop in Miami). Pinkberry is coming soon, and I think Johnny Rockets?

It's been years since I've been to a Bubba Gumps, but really enjoyed Jazz: A Louisiana Kitchen Restaurant (Sparks location):

I Will Play for Gumbo! We made some great Gumbo during the Superbowl (MIL from Louisiana) so a Bubba Gumps or Cajun place would be great.

I am begging you to support your local businesses! Go to Scott's for seafood and Manderes for beer and burgers and so on.

The one thing we lack is a real brew pub but another chain like Rock Bottom isn't what I'm after. I'd much rather have something like Hopmonk

I agree. I love Scott's for a great seafood meal. I'd love a Cajun restaurant for ... well, for Cajun seafood and other Cajun specialties.

You guys are all making me hungry. Blackened redfish, crawdad etoufee, lobster rolls... it all sounds good.

I always thought where My Brother Vinny's used to be would make for a great cajun place, but that's taken now. Maybe that place on the corner on Sutter that's empty would be a good spot for a cajun restaurant.

Aldaberto's. The REAL one

Huh? Adanberto's is the same as Adalberto's which is the same as Carolina's. All the same restaurant and same owners.

Sticking with the "chain" theme,

a Joe's Crab shack in town would be nice.

Right now the only two seafood places I know of in town are; tugboat's (deep fried only) and Scott's (across the river and too upscale).

I would like to see a seafood/fish (not deep fried) joint where I can where shorts and a T-shirt and not feel like I'm under dressed.
I would rather be Backpacking
