My signs at Oak/ Folsom Auburn Road are below the size limit. I had code enforcement (Pete) go look at them when the resident who wanted them placed them.

TO date I have had (8) signs stolen and I know it's not code enforcement as Pete calls first before taking them down.

Today, the Telegraph ran a add, I mean story on Starsky's missing signs (http://folsomtelegra..._type=&town_id=)

I'm waiting for my story in the Telegraph about my signs being stolen.

Roger Gaylord.

Sorry that someone is stealing your signs. Hopefully they are caught.

Also, I don't care how big or how many signs you have I was merely making it a point that these self enforcers really are only selectful of certain candidates. They really just need to let the city do their job. I mean,... who really has or had time to measure a campaign sign. That's lunacy.

Be Fair to all candidates and call on Gaylord's 2 signs at Oak and Folsom-Auburn then also. Or call on none.

You know who else's exceeds that size? Lundgren's, over on the FA/ Oak Ave Pkwy corner

I posted this yesterday:
I will have to measure them but at first look it appears that Starsky's double sign exceed the total 40 square feet of signage in one location. They could be in compliance but will measure and notify code if not.

Today - I confirmed that the signs are 4ft x 8ft and there are two in many single locations- so combined- they exceed the 40 sq ft as allowed by the city ordinance.

Time to call CODE - your calls would help as well. 355-7229

Maybe it is CODE taking his signs down ? ? if not will see what we can do to get them to do it in the locations where he has 2 signs together...

Cheers

Are you talking about that big one up on Sutter Street?

If it is only one sign and it is 4x 8 ft then it is OK as it is less then 40 Sq ft.

No I rarely get up to that part of town. The 3 sets of 2 signs I see are on Sibley by the auto repair, The car wash at the corner of Blue Ravine and Prairie City, and on Iron Point to the left of where the jewelry store and Subway are. I may have seen more...

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

It also appears that one of Roger's signs that it tacked to the fence just east of the jewery store and subway on Iron Point ( just left of the two Starsky signs ) is actually on city, country or state property -
I would like a read on this...

I called and left a message about some illegal signs. They have been up for quite a while?

I'm getting the impression that there seems to be a double standard over who gets the focus on enforcement regarding signs and one seems to get ignored. I suspect This isn't a choice being made at the staff level.

In years past I had a FORMER employee flat out tell me they were given direct orders from upstairs NOT to remove ANY certain council members signs no matter what and that they were to observe and confirm with the CM( at that Time) any violations.

Regardless of who your favorite candidate is, its absolutely WRONG to have our Local Government having double standards regarding enforcement on ANY issue!

Is anyone seeing any illegal signs ( 2, 4'x8' on one commercial property or a 4'x8' on a residential location) being taking down?

If the City won't enforce the sign ordinance when an incumbant City Council member is seeking reelection, when it benefits an existing City Council member, this is really bad!

Let see the City Council hires the CM, who directs staff, yet doesn't enforce ordinances when it benefits the very people who hire them!

Can you say CORRUPTION!

specifics?

I saw 2, 4'x8' on the southwest corner of East Bidwell & Creekside and saw a 4' x8' sign on a residents fence on Blue Ravine and Arrowsmith.

I've called and reported these last week. I'll check later and see if they have been corrected.

I'm curious if anyone else is reporting anything that is noncompliance and IF it is being addressed or not?

Didn't you just rag on me last week about doing this very same thing?

Corruption is the reason we need to clean out the cess pool called city council. That turd Starsky has been floating in the pool way too long!

The signs on the private residence, from what I read of the ordinance, are legal. Even though I have not seen the signs the ordinance I posted clearly leaves out any details that would restrict the decision making for a private property, unless it is on a public easement or commercial property...

As for the other two...not sure...

Section 2a reads the size limit is 10 square feet for residential, if I'm reading it correctly?

2. Campaign/election signs may be located on private property and outside of any clear vision
triangle; campaign / elections signs may not be located within or over a public right-of-way
unless authorized pursuant to Folsom Municipal Code Section 17.59.030 (D) and FMC
17.59.030©(13) as summarized below,
a. One or more campaign/election signs are permitted on any one residential parcel of
land with a maximum combined sign area of ten (10) square feet and a maximum
height of six (6) feet.

Maybe no one really stole the campaign signs, and the $1000 reward is really a campaign contribution to the Starsky camp.
