Wow, it's nice to hear I'm not alone in this! I can't believe how many others were also induced. I would have to start the night before if my cervix isn't softening to get that going. They would start pitocin the next morning. I'm just nervous about going through the whole process. If I can deliver normally I will be thrilled but I'm worried about going through all that and then having to do a C-section on top of it. My pregnancy went great and I never thought it would be my labor that I'd worry about. Thanks for all the support!!!

So...enjoy your absolute last day of freedom for the next 18 years or so biggrin.gif

Only a few hours left until you get to lay your eyes on your beautiful (yet apparently very stubborn ) baby girl! I bet the anxiousness is outstanding!

Good Luck!

That applies mostly to those with no help. I've noticed that in some large families with lots of help the parents barely get to see their own kid.

We know of one set of parents who never even changed a single diaper until the kid was around 1yr old. Their life didn't change at all since their parents moved in to take care of the child on a full time basis.

Cleaning - a sure sign you are ready to produce. I know of a lot of mothers who had a huge need to clean the house just before going into labor. All part of the nesting instinct.

Good luck!

I cooked and cleaned and cooked and cleaned all day the day before my due date. Finished up and went to bed about 1 am, and went into labor about 1:20 am.

thumbsupsmileyanim.gif I don't know whether the nesting instinct kicked in, thus causing me to cook and clean, whether cooking and cleaning and being on my feet all day spurred labor on, or whether they were totally coinky dinky. Whatever... I got done what I needed to get done and had the baby on her due date.

Gosh, I was a cleaning tornado woman the day I went into labor! Cleaning, baking, cooking all day long. Finally sat down at 10:00 pm on a Saturday night and felt a tightening on my abdomen. Went to bed (to sleep - really!) and woke up about 3:00 am knowing that the tightening was actually labor. Got to the hospital around 10:00 am and delivered at 4:30 pm.

I truly believe in the nesting urge though I'm sure some women don't recognize it for that.
