There used to be a Kenny Rogers chicken place in Folsom.

What? I don't ever recall that. Where was it located?

Interesting how many of the responses include restaurants - I guess we all really like to eat! wink.gif

I wish there was...

...Authentic Dim-sum would be great!
...a Dog Park!!!!!!!!
...a large Assembly of God church, like Capital Christian Center, with a young energetic pastor and large youth group... (I know we have other large churches, but they're just not quite right for me).
...Noah's Bagels (though I've grown attached to the owners of Main St Bagel)
...a satellite campus for CSUS evening classes.
...a well-respected youth symphony (so we didn't drive all the way to Hiram Johnson HS every Tuesday).
...an art class center like the one in Granite Bay.
...an ocean with a lovely beach... okay, I got carried away, sorry.

I love Folsom as it is, but these are the things that I must drive to reach.

There was a "coming soon - Kenny Rogers chicken ..." sign on the corner of Blue Ravine and E. Bidwell. Jack in the Box is there now.

A mini-golf course with an arcade would be nice. I like the pinball machines at the place in Roseville.

Frys! Going all the way to Fremont is just insane to get a decent price on compuware.

PF Changs! Yummy. Someone told me there might be one coming, anyone know any news on this?

In'N'Out! Of course.

More places to work! I hate commuting, anyone need a UNIX sysadmin in the area?

Cheers,

Maybe this already exists, if so, tell me where as we are newbies to the area....but is there any non-starbucks (read: independant) espresso bar? It would be a great addition to Sutter St if someone opened a little bohemian-style cafe for coffee and conversation. I know there's Jitters....but they aren't open in the morning for that pre-work jolt that is so crucial. And having a comfy hangout for later would give the shoppers/tourists a way to take a nice break without having to go into a full service restaurant or a tavern (or gift shop). Anyone???

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I've heard great things about Bella Bru on Blue Ravine.

There's an expresso bar in Borders. I don't know if it's run by Starbucks. Bean Trees used to be in Intel's cafeteria, but now it's run by Starbucks. I guess there's no escaping the giant slurping sound of Starbucks.

Bella Bru is my favorite! Jitters is changing the theme to become more of a coffee bar. There is now a clearance going on to make room. Supposedly there will be later hours and poetry readings, things like that in the evening. I don't know how soon she will change over probably depends on how long it will take to sell merchandise.
