Is it just me who thought Kenny Rogers looks like he was enbalmed? Scary.

I'm a fan of Taylor's, and even tho I thought he wasn't great last night, I hope he doesn't get voted off, because he is better than that..... Puzzling, tho, that he chose John Denver.....I think he could have done a Ray Charles song that would have been country and much more suited to him.....

Bucky should have been gone the first week, but somehow, he keeps hanging in......I don't think that will change this week.

Kellie walks around like a robot when she sings....no expressions, stiff legged, etc. Hard to watch. Listening to her is OK, cuz she has a good voice.

Mandisa. She bides her time in the songs until she can hit the big notes, which is what she's all about.

Elliot is amazing, considering he's almost completely deaf in one ear.....Not sure if he can get to the end tho...

Ace needs to go. No "wow" factor.

Paris, who I've always liked, wasn't great last night. I could easily picture her singing The Dixie Chicks' "Sin Wagon", not boring Leanne Rimes....but that's just me.

Katherine was good, but I wasn't thrilled with the song.

Chris is just plain amazing. I really liked his performance last night. I picked him at the beginning of the finals to win, and I haven't changed my mind yet.

Oh, and will we ever get to see Paula string together a complete sentence? She's pretty entertaining, since you never know what will come out of her mouth.........bla bla bla bla bla.

I assume full responsibility for my actions, except the ones that are someone else's fault.

Kenny IS embalmed (well practically) he's had more plastic surgery then probably even Michael Jackson, and thats saying a lot....

Paula seemed like she was drunk/wasted last night, I heard she just got a huge new contract for the next AI. I can't wait for the day when she hits Simon - you gotta figure thats gonna happen someday - maybe they should do a pay-per-view boxing match laughcry.gif

Paula brings the whole show down. During her blabbering last night, my husband turned and said, "Somone needs to give this gal an intervention." So right.

Taylor's been missing his fire. He's trying to polish himself too much and he's good because he has it in his soul. He doesn't have to hop all over the stage like a drunk father at a wedding (thanx Simon), but he's gotta get it movin' again.

Kenny freaked me out. Plastic surgery gone bad. (Like most)

Katherine is good, but there's a sparkle missing.

I still think Chris is going to take it all. He has talent, looks and that star-quality. He commands attention when he's on stage.

Paris' aunt is from Sounds of Blackness?? I had to look up who her aunt is. No wonder this kid can belt it out. I love, love, love Sounds of Blackness. (Yes, an athesist who absolutely adores gospel music.) We are going to see a lot of this girl in our lifetimes.

Right now, I would buy CDs from Taylor and Chris. Chris would probably play at a place like Sleep Train and I don't do big shows. If Taylor didn't do the "American Idol" big blown-out tour, I would gladly pay money to see him. Someplace like The Fillmore.

Paula is a 'tard....I can't figure out what she adds to the show because she's a musical has-been and she never offers any critiques of any value - usually she just says she likes everybody - I think she's just there to say positive things even about the bad singers.

Randy is great - he does a radio show on the weekends and that guy really really knows music - as does Simon.

Simon may say a lot of harsh things but he's always right about what he says

That's exactly how I feel. I can see the need to offer up someone who is nicer than Simon, but her comments are worthless.

Randy & Simon are the ones to listen to. Simon more than Randy, but I love when Randy breaks it down on pitch, tempo and such. Like last night when he called out the last five bars to Mandisa. You know he's analyzing the whole song. Simon can analyze how well they'll do with the public. Paula's analyzing how she can get higher.

We couldn't believe that was Kenny Rogers!
Paula? Did you see her expression when Ryan said "someone’s got a flask at that table"? Randy and Simon were laughing and Paula looked disgusted. My wife rewinded and froze the frame (I'm not sure how she got the remote from me). We were both cracking up! Half the fun is seeing what she is going to do next. We don't get the show live do we? Don't we see exactly what they want us to see? I think they keep the "Paula controversy" going.

Do any of you remember the "Mad Libs" booklets? Sentences with blanks, and you're supposed to come up with the type of word (adjective, noun, adverb, etc) for each blank, and then read the sentence. Kids have fun with these, because they're goofy.....

I think that's what Paula uses to figure out what to say to each contestant. Combine that with whatever she's on, and presto! Instant Idiot!

I agree. I think she's only there as entertainment value, not as any valuable input to the performers.

Now that we're dishing on judges....
Not to turn this into a 'gay' thread, but Randy seems to be coming out of the closet with all his jewlery and wardrobe last night...

Congratulations Msgt, on letting your wife have the tv controller. I know that your faith has taught you well re: the benefits of surrender.

HAHAHA - I wondered that myself!!! If anyone on the show is, its Ryan Seacrest. He's got "Mary" written all over his forehead.

I like McPhee. Last night she reminded me of Kelly Clarkson.

I'm another one who doesn't like Bucky, but he did okay last night, so I guess he's around a bit longer. I don't like Taylor either, but it seems I'm in the minority.

I think Elliott's a goner tonight.

Paula pretty much stammers her way into repeating what Randy says.

Randy, "You picked the right song for you, you were in your element, good job"

Paul, "Y-y-you were in your element, that was the right song choice and it was good"

Randy, "It was just allright for me, a little pitchy, but you did recover at the end"

Paula, "It, it it was alright, you had a pitch problem, but you recovered"

Thanks for that wonderful insight, Paula. You're still hot, though. Too bad I'm not 22 and I can't sing..

To be sterotypical, Ryan doesn't have enough style to be gay. He's too much into what everyone is saying is a hot look right now. Absolutely no gaydar going off with him.

Now Randy, he's got a sense of self with his style!

My comments about this season of Idol

Chris- WINNER this year, like Bo but can sing a range of songs not total hardcore rocker.

Ace- Goes home tonight he is another pretty boy going nowhere like Constantie was last year

Bucky- good in Country but that is it sucks at everything else

Katherine- Boring, proably goes home next week

Kelly- She is another Carrie country only pretty and if she wins then help us all but we don't need another country person.

Mandisa- This girl can sing but she is compared to Fantasia and also the weight problem will not let her win

Paris- Will go home after Katherine to young and is ok

Elliott- Will go after Ace and he has no style except the lounge scene, no flair. I believe he should have left when the Sanatra singers left but that is a different story.

Taylor- Good old Taylor, he can sing and actually he should win but since this is a show that doesn't just do talent but also looks as a package to sell an album he won't win either.

So in conclusion there should be based on singing talent Mandisa, Taylor and Chris to win but because Idol wants to sex appeal Chris will be the winner, but it depends what the record labels want in a song choice this year. flag.gif

LOL. That's funny!
Did I hear the audience actually boo her last night? They never boo Paula.
