Good thoughtful post, Rose. This anti-Trump rage and vitriol has to stop. We gave Obama a chance, until he lied to everyone about ObamaCare. But the hate-Trump crap has to stop. Funny how the haters CAN'T FIND ONE THING to give Trump credit for. That fact alone proves that they are simply haters. Pretty childish.

Thanks Aces...I'm just tried of the muck slinging that everyone has been doing, including myself. We can't continue to allow the news media to separate us and make us fight each other. We all lose when that happens.

Some times a new president has to prove himself and I think Trump knows that. He may surprise us all, who knows. But for the time being, I'd like to see us ignore the rants and just refuse to reply to them. Unless it's in a manner that will make some sense and not just be attacking the poster back.

I know I'm coming off as a sweet sally, but I really believe that many will leave this forum because of the nasty insults and that will accomplish nothing. And I'm not needing a place to vent my anger.  At this point, that's taken a back seat to me wanting to change our country for the better. The political parties are losing their grip and will no longer hold the place in history as they have. That's what I think, anyway. And I hope that is the case because we must transcend the idea that it's us against them. We all have to live here and it's time we stop allowing politicians to shape how we feel and act. It's time we take our country back and run it like a united people.

I sound like I'm preaching now, don't I? Anyway, Thanks for getting my meaning.

Uncle Vinny....Intelligent people try to find the answers to life's riddles. Sometimes we only come up with more questions. I try not to make my mind up about anything, if I still have questions. My brother is very much a Christian and believes, like you, that the end of the world is near.

The one book I read and had trouble with is, 'A Course in Miracles'. That book is written in a very particular and strange way. How did you like it?

Not "the end of the world" but rather the end of the world "as we know it."

Or the end of the separation between Heaven and Earth.

Think in spiritual terms, not material.

After the "event" many will see in every human being a brother and divine spirit.
So the FORM might not change that much, but the perception and relationship will.

I was reading the Course for about 3 days when I first discovered it.

I was in an intense but troubled "love relationship."

The Course asked, Are you happy with the relationship, or plagued by fear and doubt?

I was. It recommended I "give it over to spirit."

The next day she broke it off with me, after 7 years.

I threw the book against the wall. When I next picked it up, the next paragraph said.
"Did something happen? To move slowly would only be cruel."
I felt it was talking to me. That was 1985. Been a student ever since.
Had about 30 or 40 such "miracles" in that time. So that one is personal for me.
But it's an intellectual book. Nerdy. Hard to grasp.

LittleVinnie says we're close to the "end of the world as we know it".. and he thinks the blame should go to Trump. At least that's what any rational person would think if they read LittleVinnie's posts for the past 500 days. Now, who is the psycho? Weird dude.

Go for it, my little friend.

Get ALL the pus out of that infected boil.

Let it drain out.

Now tell us - who hurt you so bad?

Illegal criminal alien invaders crossing the border, in defiance of our laws? You know what we need at the border?  A serious deterrent.  Many countries do it... and they have very few *invader problems*. You want to come here, do it the legal, orderly way... or else risk being shot on sight. Would be a GREAT Trump success!  :)

The drug cartels have been coming into this country for the past ten years or so. They intend to take over America just like they took over Mexico and South America. They fund the protesters and many American politicians to do their bidding here.

Of course, they frame their arguments in the form of sympathies for the poor in those countries and how America owes them. I've heard it many times before. Lies and propaganda are their tools to fool everybody to follow their lead. But the truth is, the drug cartels are planning a very dark future for America.

Our best defense against the cartels is a strong FBI.

Too bad Trump continues to attack the FBI, the DOJ, and his own Intelligence Agencies.

Where is the proof that "they fund the protesters?"

I haven't heard that particular alt-right propaganda yet.

Oh, you mean a corrupt FBI? You're pretty clueless, aren't you? Did you see the IG Report, or did it make you cry? Lots of your idols are going to be indicted. I've got my popcorn, LittleVinnie.

A strong FBI is the best defense of the cartels? Didn't Obama's DOJ allow 2500 "assault" and sniper rifles to be purchased by the cartel's straw buyers?

Huh. I guess that strategy might work as long as they focused on killing each other rather than innocent civilians....unfortunately, that didn't happen.

Cartels exist only because there is a strong demand for a particular type of commodity, in this case illegal drugs.  The very best way to kill a cartel is to kill their business incentives.  We could do it very quickly by simply making all the drugs they smuggle into this country legal and start supplying them at the local pharmacy at cheap prices.  Two benefits:

1)  Seriously drug addicted people have an unending supply, will OD and kill themselves.  A self correcting system (Darwin effect).

2)  The profit motive for the business disappears instantly, and the cartels will crumble into oblivion.

This approach has been used in Europe with great success.  They have other problems, but not so much with drug smuggling.

Think about other areas where we have killed cartels.  The oil industry and OPEC.  For decades, OPEC screwed the USA with high imported oil and gas prices.  In about 2000, we started to deploy new drilling techniques in the USA and broke open huge untapped resources for oil and gas.  At the same time we legislated better fuel economy for cars which reduced demand.  We killed OPEC's market and ever since they have been but a hollow shell of their former selves.  They no longer control global oil prices.  And their situation will get worse as time passes and we move into renewable energy sources.

Harley-Davidson will move the production of motorcycles bound for European countries out of the United States, citing rising costs from European Union tariffs on its products.

There's only a couple things criminals understand perfectly well:  force and firepower. I know how I would handle the border problems. Trump understands this as well.

Wait! Wasn't Harley-Davison one of the manufacturers Trump held up as a shining example of his policies?

Whoops! Now losing jobs, costing manufacturers in America more for supplies.

More jobs outsourced to foreign countries.

Tariff worries:  Market tanking today - - down 340 points.

Oooh! How embarrassing!

I haven't heard that particular alt-right propaganda yet.

Just as Hillary and Bill Clinton have the Clinton Foundation, there are other such organizations that receive donations from other countries. It's a controversial subject and may in the future, be deemed to be illegal. Lobbyist also come here from other countries to lobby against our laws they think are in any way harmful against their interest. Of course any bribes they offer our representatives will be behind closed doors and not made known to others. Face it, both sides have been corrupt in dealings regarding politics.

There have even been books written on this subject, stating that our country is up "For Sale".
