Stevethedad,
I understand where you are coming from and agree that there are issues of drugs and alcohol etc. among Folsom teens, however, I believe that just because we have those issues, it does not mean we can turn our backs on the potential issues brought forth by Ms. Teaz.

P.S. It would be correct to assume that I am another person that decided not to go to the healthy families forum. The reason for that would probably be that I have not heard of it or about it except from in your postings and maybe somewhere else along the way. I have no idea what it is about or why I would want to attend.

Locke

I guess my problem is, I've never been convinced that a new shop selling legal and legitimate products, which are not immoral or unethical, which are not sold to children nor attract them, which does not attract 'the wrong element', which may in fact enhance and protect marriages, bring new life and revenue to a dying business district, should raise any concern from any citizen. It can do nothing but good for Sutter Street.

They pose no greater threat to our town than an antique shop, and certainly less than the bar next door to it, yet they were treated as they were back alley degenerates, infecting our town with pornography and perversion.

They are nothing of the kind. They have what could be considered a fun little shop for ladies and married folk, and we should all wish them well.

It they were opening a card room, strip joint, halfway house, or headshop, I'd be concerned. A lingerie and vibrator shop? No harm.

As for the Forum, despite my explanations, despite the articles in the local press, the posters, the visits to PTA's, you were not alone in your lack of understanding. We'll keep trying.

That's just it...there are no issues brought forth by Ms. Teaz.

I can honestly say if my parents had gone to some meeting about a store that was being opened instead of the Healthy Kids forum, I'd have to have a bit of a "sit-down" with them. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Steve,

Read your posting concerning the outfit your wife found attractive. Misty and I both agree that You are most definately deserving of a discount. Should you wish to surprise her for X-mas (or any other occasion for that matter)... We'll be certain you are well taken care of. And by the way... If you have not yet received a Logo shirt from one of our "cheesy" friends/family members in the coursets (i.e. Misty's sister Bree, our close friend Renee who flew down from Washington to help with the opening, and the Hip Chiks girls Tawnya & Megan- the previous business who occupied our building) who were helping us with the shop Saturday - do remind us that we have one set aside with your name on it.

Just read your posting for the first time Ryan - thanks for taking the time to stick up for us. Goes to show that family one of the dearest things in one's life. Love ya - cousin! wink.gif

Hey Sam and Misty

Thanks for the offer. If your opening was any indication, you will have many years of success.

I was glad to see other Sutter Street merchants visiting and supporting you, and that the gallery next door was very busy because of the foot traffic brought by your opening.

Maybe more people like you will come in a revitalize that area.

Ah, his plan worked! I must admit Steve is deserving of a discount. He has been the best advocate for the business!

oh come on people. are you serious

you 'kids' are being more corrupted by whats on tv
than whatever lingerie shop goes in on sutter.

you have shows about 'swapping domestic partners', and the
like .
You'd be better off with your time stopping the immoral crap
all over the boob tube. Video games - your kids are all playing
kill this and that and you turn the other cheek and or buy the game
unit or games.
If you don't - do you lobby the game makers to stop? probably no.

point is society is crashing down all around you way worse than a
womens nighty in the window.

Misty spoke on AM 1240 Talk Radio tonight, and she was wonderful!!!! "MANY" people called in and talked to the oppression on Folsom street and the issues they too have dealt with in Folsom in past years. Moreover, the truth came out regarding the new micro-brewery that is going in down on the 800 block (and huge $'s going into this new establishment by the 2 partners who showed up time and time again to speak out against Ms Teaz) as well as the politics that looms over various CC members (and sharing of $'s as well). Still cannot believe we live in America. We've also been threatened by a couple Chamber of Commerce members as well as given our membership money back after having cashed our check and placing our biz on their web site as they stated that we are not the sort of business they wish to have as members – all of this we have well documented for the attorneys). Funny that NO chamber members have bothered to drop by the shop to see for them selves though, and it is also FUNNY that the same individual who owns the property where the Micro brew is going in also holds a strong position on the council board.

We are going public with all this BS till all these bad people quite beating good people down. We are not in the Soviet Union people....

Now our sign for in front of our store is being held up by the city. We’ve been visited by the city investigation crew twice for possible violations (of which they have not come up with any). City wasting tax payers $’s on us rather then out looking for the bad guys. Great use of $’s. Keep it coming – we will continue to endure as we are VERY proud of our store, and we’ve had hundreds of locals drop by to say the same. We are a very classy establishment!!!
