Opps... Previous posting was meant to state "Chamber" rather then councel:

and it is also FUNNY that the same individual who owns the property where the Micro brew is going in also holds a strong position on the "CHAMBER" of Commerce board (as well as the Historic District Association by the way).

Oh... Also got screwed out of our spot in front of our store for the Christmas Fair.
We were just made aware of the situation with our spot which was supposed to go to Hip Chiks (Suzie Masson); however, the FHDA so easily stated that they had assigned the spot to another merchant. We're out of luck.

"Good" PEOPLE of Folsom!!!! Cannot believe what Misty and I just learned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read on!!!! Just received this tonight from the reporter who was very unbiased at the Folsom Telegraph:

Dear Sam and Misty,
I want to wish you two the very best in conservative Folsom. It saddens me
that I have been terminated from the Folsom Telegraph and unfortunately will
not cover your progress as planned. I am very sorry. Now that I am not
employed with the Telegraph, I think you both got the raw deal from so many
people in that town.
Keep your head held high, and don't take any s--- from anybody. It cost me
my job, but I don't care. So I am pulling for your success.
Best Wishes to you Misty and Sam,
Martin Castro
Former Telegraph reporter

Folsom should be VERY ashamed of all they are doing to people's lives. We are very close to releasing names to the State/Fed gov about this torment, slander, lies.....!!!! Quit this!!!!!!!!!

Please share this with the rest of the community. We will also be sharing this with EVERY Media rep that call from this day forward. We are in America!!!!!!!!!!! We are not living in the days of witches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are all equal in the eyes of God.

Hey Folks

Can you see what I've been talking about?

We've seen local merchants, city officials, the Chamber of Commerce, churches, and the media, manipulated, used, silened, coerced and mislead. Now, a newspaper reporter has been fired. Why? Because someone doesn't think a lingerie shop belongs on Sutter, and they will use all power and influence to screw the owners, and those who disagree.

Heaven forbid any of you should ever fall out of favor. Keep following their ever more restrictive rules, and you'll be okay. Long live the People's Republic of Folsom.

Fortunately, at least for now, I have a position as an independent contractor, and my productivity is what is important to the people I work with. And....I have a forum.

We've added a new post to Folsom Forums to bring visibility to the politics that is currently running uncheck in the streets/city of Folsom. We're also planning on pointing everyone with whom we speak to this web site. Please write your congress men/woman. If anyone knows who the best one(s) are to contact - please post. We're currently working on the coalition for freedom of speech too. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Can anybody be more specific as to what exactly Martin Castro was fired for? And how does it relate to Ms. Teaz, the Chamber, etc.? I'm not making the connection.

I find it ironic that outrage is being expressed at the Chamber using its influence in the media to this particular subject but it was okay when it was being used to defeat Measure T and promote Measure W or to silence just about anything else in a residents vs. big business debate.

My disappointment with the Chamber stems from the fact that they welcomed Ms. Teaz as a new member business, put their info on the Chamber website, and scheduled a ribbon cutting.

Then, after one member started the rumor campaign and got the public whipped into a frenzy over it, the Chamber quietly reversed their position and threw Ms. Teaz out, refunding their money, cancelling the ribbon cutting, and removing their info from the directory and website.

I could understand if Ms. Teaz was doing something immoral or unethical, but they are not.

That is just shameful.

I had no idea that happened. I personally have no problem with Ms. Teaz being on Sutter Street as long as they stick to their business plan. I figure if people won't like it they won't go there and they will close down. If they turn out to be popular and have a lot of customers then obviously the majority doesn't have a problem with this type of business.

Stevethedad, from all your posts you seem like a truly good and decent individual. That is why I was worried about you when you made that comment about the chamber. Considering who you work for you may do well to heed your own advice and not "fall out of favor." Take it from someone who has.

Thanks for the kind words, Ducky

My late father used to remind me everyday to 'be good'.

I'm sure I've fallen out of favor with some for being outspoken, and with others because of who I work for.

I am still in favor with those who respect integrity, so I'm doing okay.

YES!! Facts please.... What did he publish? What was the concern from his employers? What was the specific reason given for his termination?

I think many people learned a lesson on these boards about not jumping to conclusions (like about Ms Teaz) without getting all the information available first.

What's the big deal about the lingerie shop? My wife and I said it's been a long time coming. We need a little culture in Folsom!

We are working on getting the facts right now. We've held to the gind stone since the day we came to Folsom. Our intent for getting the facts out is to see if others will come forward to assist in our efforts. We are honestly looking to get to the bottom of all this. We do have our opinions which we are not sharing here, and we've been very good not to say anything more then facts which can be easily pulled from public record - this is who we are. We have been forth right since day one - we hope others will step forward to put an end to the injustice.

All of the comments about the nasty people of Folsom, and eek.gif Heaven Forbid! CONSERVATIVES!! The store is not being welcomed by residents, businesses and community leaders! Why don't they just take the store elsewhere then? Go somewhere that embraces the shop. There's no need to insult the residents and community and then implant yourself where you might not be wanted. That just doesn't make good business sense.

My wife and I and a couple of friends stopped by Ms. Teaz on Saturday night after eating at Pizzeria Classico. Frankly, I don't see what all the fuss is about. There is nothing sleazy about the shop. I did check out the "back room" and didn't see anything shocking. The people working at the store seemed very friendly and the lingerie on display was really quite beautiful. I wish the owners of the store the best of luck. Welcome to Folsom.

I think this whole debate is a huge scam just to get people in the door.

Nobody got fired, there wasn't even an article written. In fact, the Folsom Telegraph doesn't even exist and was purely invented in a incredibly genius marketing campaign by Ms. Teaz to bring attention to their new store.

I don't know how many times I've heard "we stopped in, just to see what the fuss was about". Brilliant!
