Clearly the perpetrator was a cyborg and is frustrated with Folsom's "bio-centered" atmosphere.

Error. Your facts are uncoordinated. You speak of "frustration" and "hate". If I were a cyborg, which I'm not, I would be puzzled, if capable of puzzlement, by these antiquated carbon-based emotions of which you all speak. Though my biologically-human half would most likely have some familiarity, if only on a conceptual level, with this process by which glands in your primitive brain stems can release substances that alter your metabolic functions, my superior cybernetic half can regulate the same functions without inhibiting reasoning like your "emotions" do.

If I were a cyborg that is.

Which I'm not.

Leave the machine-based lifeforms out of this. Cyborgs would not harm another machine - the van was one of our brothers. I mean "one of their" brothers.

Immigrants a fact of life? You bet! Our country was founded and built by immigrants! Unless you are Native American, your family emmigrated here.

I CAN NOT understand the emotions of some folks when I hear of outsourcing jobs and influx of cheap labor, if their reaction is violent, or racist, or exclusionary.

I worked for United Airlines in their reservations department. We had offices allover the country; San Fran, Seattle, LA, Chicago, Detroit, Denver, Atlanta, etc. Today, nearly all of those offices are gone. There are two reservations centers in India, a lot of what people call reservations for can be handled by automated attendants, and the internet takes care of much of the rest. All of this was done because the public wants cheaper fares, the stockholders want profits, and management recognized that what we were doing wasn't rocket science. Should I be angry at immigrants?

If I am angry about cheap labor and outsourced jobs, how does firebombing an innocent woman help my cause?

Nice discussion, I think a lot of people would disagree that this nation was founded by immigrants. The United States of America wasn't a Native idea, it was founded by settlers, not immigrants. I wouldn't consider African Americans immigrants, nor do Mexicans who are of Spanish descent. The above statement "Our country was founded and built by immigrants" sounds like a political battle cry that Bush would use, with little regards to history. Now keep in mind I'm thinking about the 18th century here.

One could take it further and instead of calling them immigrants or settlers, call them explorers, sqatters, colonists, or even invaders. Point being they were not native to this country.

I hesitated when thinking of African Americans, too. My forebears certainly weren't brought here voluntarily.

Now, I sound like Bush? What has Folsom done to me!?

I think Steve makes a very valid point. It is quite possible to split hairs over semantics but the bottom line fact or as we say, at the end of the day, the folks who came over did just that, "came over". They did not "evolve" from this place. So whether you call them immigrants, settlers, exploreres, adventurers or whatever, the fact remains that they were prepared to leave their own lands for a better future. As regards Steve's other statement about some folks being brought here against their will, true smile.gif but that is another lively discussion waiting to happen.

Your assumptions are radical and unfounded to an idiotic extreme. I'm their neighbor, and I know their whole family personally. Their son is not gay! Please tell me... what evidence do you have to support your statement? Did he tell the reporters that he is gay or something? NO!

However, an OBVIOUS characteristics is their skin color. There is really nothing else anyone could have against their family. The crime was either random or race-related.

Do you guys not have lives? You're online making up trash about other people. Their family has enough to deal with their car being blown up.

Please stop talking lies...let's stick to what we know.
