I must say that I find it incredibly offensive that CBS would so quickly jump to this type of reporting. The police have not ruled out.....give me a break.

That part confused me also, that a policeman and or CBS would jump to conclusions so quickly. The so called - choking game - doesn't usually include trees. Leave it to the news media to get things stirred up.

Oh my God, this is absolutely horrible. We live across the street from the family and I'm in complete shock. My stepdaughter walks to school through that park every day. Our thoughts and prayers and all of our love goes out to the family. Absolutely terrible, I just want to cry.

I don't know anyone involved personally, but I sure do feel for those involved. No matter what exactly happened, it's tragic. My heart goes out to all those affected.

I was surprised that Channel 3 just mentioned his name and showed his photo. I didn't think they did that if a person was under 18. ???

A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-

Here's what the Bee is reporting....mostly the same info, except for the very last sentence, which I found strange.....

It's not a situation where they need to protect a juvenile (like with criminal charges). The youth is dead now, and they are free to state the name as soon as it has been confirmed.

with all the eyes and ears out there I see folks who are afraid to post coming to my folsom to get the news faster than on the news

be it sad events like this or the iron point accident or exposing the city hall hokus pokus folks in the know get their news right here.

i go to andre's school (FHS) and i had talked to him once. he was a really funny kid and always really happy. there is no way that he would do that to himself. i also have heard that his legs were broken and his head bashed in. i dont think he could have done that. also his dad was a prison guard. that might have something to do with it. they say the last time they saw him he went to take out the trash. i just really dont think he could have committed suicide.

In case anyone else is as sheltered as I and was afraid of what they'd find by googling "choking game," I found an informative and safe article about it on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia....ki/Choking_game

Again, whatever the cause, it's a sad sad day...

My condolences to the family.

K&N: If you hear of anything that we, the very far removed, can do, please don't hesitate to let us know. I realize those at the center of this tragedy will have their own support network, but this affects many, many people in our community - many of them children. If there is any kind of drive or need that we can fill for those who maybe don't have quite as strong of a support system, please keep us informed. (Dinners, running errands, etc.)
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY GIRL.
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

WOW-

Some of you people need to stop adding fuel to a very large fire that is way out of control. It is obvious we don't know what happed to the young man. The police spokesman said they don't believe foul play is involved. I am sure with all of the experience they had on scene, including the Sac County Homicide Detectives, they have a good idea of what happend. All this murder talk is way out of line.....you people with those theories need to keep them to yourself and stop getting people worried..... if the cops think it is murder, I don't think they would hide it! I am sure they will get info from the kids computer and from his friends....Let's try not to jump the gun and wait for the detectives to do their job.....at least in respect for the family!

I don't quite know what to say. I guess I am shocked that such a thing would happen here in Folsom. In the last couple months we, as Folsomites, have been exposed to the real world and frankly it is scary. I grew up in a very conservative, non-eventful town where the first person to die in my graduation class was due to cancer.

As an educator, I can only imagine what it must be like for the teachers and students. I can't even imagine what the family must be going through.

As I sit here typing I hear sirens in the background....these aren't sounds that I thought I would be hearing in this town. I would like someone to reassure me that this is the wonderful town that I thought it was and that my <future> kids will be okay in this town. Between this and the meth mansion I don't know if I should ever have kids!

My prayers are with the family and friends of this young man...
