No. Traffic problems/issues going over there. Plenty of good places in Folsom-proper that aren't a hassle getting to and getting out of. Don't be naive..... wink.gif

ChipShot, don't let that stop you. We had no problem getting in Saturday night. And we often eat lunch at Thai Amarin. The only killer times are the 4 to 5:30 pm weekday commute hours.

their food is excellent and I thought the prices were very reasonable.

Since it's just past the bridge, it's actually amazingly easy to get to. Tons of parking, too.

I am a new resident of Folsom moving from the bay area to get away from the hustle and bustle and busyness of the city life. I am no stranger to fine dining and even the chef Matthew Newton, as I have eaten at the restaurant he worked at in S.F. Jeanty at Jacks. I just found out he was in Folsom and being a fan of his food in the city I had to go to the Folsom Bistro. I found it to be absolutely spot on, just as it was at Jacks.

Mylo has the right idea with the Kobe Burger, though I only tried the dinner Kobe Slider Trio.

As for all the talk about kids, I took my niece and nephews and they loved it too. My oldest Nephew told me they have the best Grilled Cheese and French Fries ever.

Oh and the traffic, come on, it's not that bad. Try driving from S.F. to Berkley during rush hour traffic, that is the real deal. The rainbow bridge traffic is nothing.

My only complaint is the decor. It's just not appealing to me ;(

Have you eaten there at night, Mylo? Its elegant then. However, the art on the walls (with the exception of the dancer painting near the bar) is too amateurish for the mood they are attempting to create with the subtle blue and white and dark wood. I haven't eaten there during daylight yet, but I hope to change that tomorrow for lunch.

Yeah, I think that elegance probably gets washed away with sunlight.

Pretty reasonable, just about as much as you would spend at either Applebee's, Chili's, BJ's, etc.

Just opened on 11/23, they say it's French/American Bistro cuisine. I'll have to give it a shot soon.

Website is currently a placeholder, but they say they're updating it soon:

Sorry, but WAY more than that!

We went there tonight. They had a pretty limited menu, and we both ended up ordering the steak with salads before. The salads were large, and pretty good. The steak was.....not the best we've had . I think it was the cut, but for $25, I expected better. It was very tough, and not terribly flavorful. The french fries (pomme frites) were about the best I've ever had.

I wish we would have gotten different entrees so we could have gotten a better picture of their food. Unfortunately we were left with over $100 worth of disappointment. It was an expensive night, and I was just thankful that Big Spoon was on the way home.

Big Spoon Yogurt at Blue Ravine and E. Natoma. Go there. You will not regret it.

It's self-serve yogurt with a ton of toppings. Yum!

well, we had lunch there on Tuesday: chicken crepes with goat cheese and s---ake mushrooms with a light, but creamy pesto sauce. we both had salads to start before the crepes. I had the caesar salad and was so full, I could only eat one of my crepes. Took the other one home for dinner. (delicious!) everything was great. lots of home made bread too...one was a brown wheat bread and the other was sort of a herbed and salted flat bread or foccaccia. as always, great service, no rush, wonderful atmosphere. the chef came out to check on everyone. we debated sharing a dessert, but were just too full. we really like this place.

I noticed that, too. That's funny! lmaosmiley.gif

Just to let everyone know, there is a 20% off coupon in one of those mailers that come out. I was obviously VERY bitter when I noticed it the day AFTER we went to dinner. madsmiley.png
