How about Taco Loco on Blue Ravine ?? plenty of food choices, served very quickly full bar, plenty of sports going on in a very kid friendly atmosphere. Lobster taco... mmmm good.. Breakfast on weekends is very hearty and darn good bloody mary's to boot.

Kid friendly? I know a bunch of CHP's who go there all the time and get hammered. More like a rowdy drunk fest, I'd keep kids out of there.

I'm gonna have to agree. Went in there a couple times to pick up to go. Got a little tired of the dudes talking really loudly about how much action they were getting. My kid doesn't need to hear that. PLus the food isn't all that.

Why not Chili's? They have excellent Fajita's! The best I've had anywhere! Their Chicken Nacho's are very good too. And I really love their chips! I've got the extra pounds on my sides to prove it.....

The only problem with your question is the price thing. It seems that every Mexican restaurant in Folsom, thinks they must charge more, because we are all rich here, in case you haven't heard.

The second problem is with the "good" part. All the good Mexican restaurants I've gone to are holes in the wall.

Good luck with your choice, though. It's a tough call.

Fajitas are not truly a mexican dish. Read this http://whatscookinga...jitaHistory.htm

Wow, 60+ replies and not one mention of Colina de Oro in EDH... Granted it's in EDH and not Folsom, but it's only 1/4 mile or less outside of Folsom :-) I'm surprised no one has mentioned it since it has been around for as long as I've worked in EDH (going on 13 years now) and it's excellent food! Sit down, etc - everything you (were) looking for...

It's in EDH just off of Green Valley and Francisco Blvd... I would go there any time over other mexican places if I had a choice.

Coach Weise.

Well folks, I drove by Cafe Veracruz yesterday and there was a sign posted on the door stating to their customers and friends that they are no longer in business. Sad to see another one fall by the wayside.

You absolutely can not beat their service, either. Miguel never forgets a face, a name, or your 'usual' order.

There is a difference between American-Mexican food... and the TRUE Mexican food!!!

Everyone that has listed... Hacienda, Chevy's, Chipolte, and the such... those are beans in a can, pop open the rice from a box and through it on a plate!! NOT MEXICAN FOOD!!!!
YUK!

La Fiesta, Sol Azteca.... those are two good Mexican Restuarants. Have yet to try El Rey... but I'm sure it'll fit into this catergory!!!

REAL MEXICAN food... try Lolita's (by Vics and American River Canyon!), La Placita over off of Greenback... and even Lupita's is good too!!! These are more of the Real Mexican dishes...

Only way to have true delicious dishes are home-made... THANK YOU TO MY MOTHER-IN-LAW... the BEST homemade Mexican food around!!!!!!!!

Bummer. That was a very hard location... just not a spot I typically think of going to for lunch or dinner. I enjoyed their food but I admit I didn't go there much.

BoBo, now Veracruz. A couple other stores in there recently closed up too. (Is Hollywood far behind?) It's become apparent the owners need to lower rent and update the place. It's probably the oldest looking center in Folsom.

Do shoppers really make decisions about where to shop based on how old the center looks? If a store offers what I want/need and offers top caliber customer service, I'm there. Yeah, it would be nice if the center looked nice, but it really isn't on my list of must haves.

Hey Coach, I agree Colina de Oro is awesome. And they have 2 other locations, Shingle Springs & Diamond Springs. I used to go to the one in EDH when I worked in EDH, but now the Shingle Springs one is just 3 miles from my work. My favorite is their shrimp tacos.
