"The City" refers to San Francisco...not Circuit City.

If the Folsom store is a The City elite store, I don't like it. I would prefer to go to a "real" store like the CC in CH or a Best Buy because the Folsom CC while maybe a little more upscale in decor, it is barely stocked with product (any product) and middle of the day is has always been a ghost town.

There is good news for CCCat. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Compared to frys? Its plenty stocked. It is even ck and top stocked. Next time your in look above the side walls. And if you can ask to see whats behind the shelves.

Sorry CCC. I understand your pride and enthusiasm for working at CC and even applaud it especially in these times.

Take a run to BB or Roseville Fry's and compare inventory, customer service and prices. Fry's would be my first choice for largest inventory, product\brand selection and price. The local BB is a good second unless my needs are immediate and dont wish to drive to Roseville (hurry up and open the Johnny Cash Bridge!).

Bottom line is the Folsom CC doesn't meet my (and many peoples) needs today. If I need a PC component (HDD, DVD-RW, SATA cable) for example it is slim pickings and pricey. I have had to go to BB or one of the independents in town when its an immediate need and if not, order from Amazon or newegg. If I want the latest DVD release or your bargain table DVDs CC is normally the best spot to go but tough to survive on the revenue those make (or dont as I bet they are loss leaders).

I never said I worked at The City did I? But I would have to agree with you on inventory. Frys does seem to have an incredible size and selection. And if you only come to CC for the discount dvd bins then thats great too. May you find them all at The City smile.gif

No, but your ID and the fact you have 4 posts, all in this topic, two of which are lengthy diatribes about how great CC is points strongly to one having a financial interest in the success of the store.

Maybe you aren't an employee, but me thinks you have more than a passing interest in the success of CC in Folsom.
I would rather be Backpacking

Hey, now let's not get personal.

Chris didn't bad mouth you, he bad mouthed the store you support.

A more proper response would be not to attack Chris, but his statement.

"Your opinion sucks" would have been a much more appropriate response.

How does that work? Do you buy their Christmas album and go to all their concerts?

Actually my opinion is not opinion at all. It is fact. I will never support your store. The business ethics are horrible. Especially when management bullies 16 year old kids around. It's real nice when the audio installers at the store steal sh!t out of your car while it is being worked on. Not just a little bit, but 100+ cd's and change from the ashtray. Then, when I approached the manager he pretty much blew me off. Things escalated and then before I knew it I had 4 adults pushing me out of the store. The only thing I got out of the experience is not ever trusting anyone else to touch my vehicles and learning how to do the work myself. I hope CC fails. I will badmouth them until the end.

Wow! You did get royally screwed by them.

What happened to you is why when I need to take a vehicle in for servicing (because I don't want to do it myself), if I'm not present while the car is being worked on, then I empty all personal belongings out of it at home before dropping it off. Not all store employees can be trusted. And sometimes it's not the store employees, but some other punk taking advantage that shops don't typically lock the car doors after working on it and then parking it outside until the customer returns. Most businesses do post signs they aren't responsible for you personal effects left in the vehicle.

I assumed it was well stocked because no one shops there. I drive by the store at least twice everyday, sometimes more. The parking lot is always empty.

Circuit City has now filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy!

http://money.cnn.com...sion=2008111008

They plan to continue to operate the remaining stores through the bankruptcy, but sales will probably drop even further now because customers will not be comfortable about returns and warranties on merchandise purchased from a bankrupt retailier.

CCCat, at some point you will realize (as Circuit City now has via filing for bankruptcy), that the customer's opinion is the ONLY one that counts.

I have visited the Folsom Circuit City once, in search of a new dvd player. The selection of upconvert players was exactly 2 and they were priced at least 40% higher than they should have been.

So, unless CC changes the way it does business in this market of savvy consumers, it won't make it.
