Darn it I miss all the good posts....

Okay here's my take:
Visconti's - The Rigatoni a la Vodka is actually quite good
Vinny's - Love to sit outside and watch the people below and if you like clams or mussels then their appetizers are great.
Mama-Anns is lunch time food unless you're going to take and bake
Strings has a good lunch special with the soup and salad like olive garden.

I make the BEST spaghetti and meatballs with my own sauce that I make from canned tomatoes, the meatballs are beef and pork with parmesan, sourdough breadcrumbs and fresh spices. My lasagna, and Chicken piccata are also pretty dang good. And I hear I make a mean Caesar salad dressing and garlic bread.

I'm pretty sure she was only talking about her food.

I don't know if 'we' have one for chili -- just speaking in general that chili cookoff's exist. I love spaghetti. I'd be open to a spaghetti cookoff.

Let's put our sauce where our mouth is. smile.gif

Tsukiji, I do appreciate your dissertations as being factual, informative and overall well balanced. But when you brought up Linguini Con Vongole, well that really struck a nerve. I love it!! I might have it sometimes twice a week. Clams steamed in white wine and garlic- lots of garlic... once the clams are plated, the sauce is infused with a generous amount of butter to make a creamy rich broth... mmmmm heaven... and poured over the entire bowl and tossed... bread and good wine finish it all off...

Speaking of Italian, who remembers "I Love Pasta" before it became "Streets of London"?

And before that, it was Choo Choo Willie's, and before that Denny's.

If you really want a great Italian meal, go to Papa Gianni's in Cameron Park in the Bel Air shopping center (Palmer Drive off Cameron Park Drive).

It is SOOOOO worth the drive!

I remember it being a Denny's, I don't recall it being a choo choo willies. I'm sure I never visited it when it was that.
I would rather be Backpacking
